  • "Mock Gambling" Competition: Sign Up Now!

This was inspired by adarian's "march to the beat of his own drum" responses to the Pick the Score Threads.

Here's how the game will work.

Sign up now and you get "$100" in your "bank." If you join later in the year, you'll get the following amounts: Weeks 3-8: $75.00, Weeks 9-12: $50.00, Weeks 13-16: $25.00.

Each week you can place a bet on the Rams' game in an amount (increments of $5.00) you select each week. The spread will apply. We'll keep track of the total "money banked" by each participant and announce a winner at the end of the season. If you hit $0.00, you're out.

    I'll start...

I will take the Rams +2.5 against the Falcons and wager $25.00.

Disclaimer: This is entirely for entertainment purposes. No money is actually being bet or changing hands.

OK. You've got my attention. But now for the controversy. Yesterday's bet was based on a Sportsbook booking the Rams as a 3 point underdog. Even if the Falcons get to OT, no way the Falcons win by more than a FG. So I'd double down previous winnings with 3 points.

But, less than 3? I assume that the 2 1/2 points comes from Sheridan. If you're going to make book at 2 1/2 the bet gets tougher and one should wait for official injury reports (and don't let the NFL fool you, the only reason the injury reports exist in the first place is to assist bookmakers).

But just to stay consistant, I'll take the Rams and the points for $50.

I wish you luck in keeping this thread active AV 'cuz I suspect the interest level in this one is going to be low for a number of reasons.

Good Christian boy like me knows zilch about gambling (even hypothetical gambling), so here goes nothing!

I'll take the Rams and points for $20.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I am so in this. I'll take the Rams and $45.28 cause I think faulk has a big day. if this causes problems with accounting then make it $45.00 but in my heart it is $45.28. I hope next week my bet can be somewhere around $80.10 or 81.10

This sounds like fun. I tend not to bet on Ram games since emotion overrides logic. I don't have a good feeling about this game but this time I will let emotion win and take the Rams with the points for $15.

Thanks AV for the update.........GRRRRRRRRRRRRR tho to my bet, I hate when I lose, I'm just too competitive I suppose, but I thought for sure we'd win against the birds, now I have to play conservative with my mock money. I hope I can use my mock ATM card if necessary!!!!
