  • Offensive and Defensive MVPs

Tough to pick MVPs in a bad loss, but here goes:

Offense: Marc Bulger - 102.2 passer rating despite poor protection, no running game, and a hip bruise.

Defense: Pisa Tinoisamoa - lone bright spot on defense with 8 tackles and a sack.

I question your choice for offensive MVP. When the game was still close, Bulger gets stripped of the ball in the endzone for a TD. He should have hung on to the ball and taken the safety. Then when they are driving and trying to get back in the game, a key interception.

I would go with Holt for the offensive MVP.

Give me a break. You don't willingly take a safety when you're down by 7 in the fourth quarter. He tried to get the pass off, but had no protection. I have no beef with giving Ike or Torry the offensive MVP, but don't discredit Bulger's performance.

            Bit touchy today, huh?

It was not meant to discedit his performance. I simply said that based on those key plays, I would give the offensive MVP to Holt. How the hell is that in any way an attempt to discredit his performance

That's not discrediting his performance? Um... I think you may have given the "touchy" label to the wrong person there, Yo. Maybe you should look in your Kurt Warner commemorative mirror to find the one who's overly touchy.

Well, let's see the defense was offensive. Does that cover it?

Are you saying those plays didn't happen? Did I imagine them? And if they did happen, how is my saying that based on those plays I'd give the MVP to Holt discrediting the rest of his performance? Please explain.

                    Re: Offensive and Defensive MVPs

Those things did happen but (1) they were not necessarily Bulger's fault and (2) to mention those plays and ignore the fact that he had a very good game overall certainly constitutes a discrediting of his performance.

P.S. Thought you'd like the commemorative mirror comment.

                      Re: Offensive and Defensive MVPs

Offensive: Marc Bulger. He made some mistakes, but for the most part, was lights out on a day in which he had no running help and was constantly getting hammered.

Defensive: It's hard to single out one guy in what was a pretty weak performance overall, but statistically, Pisa Tinoisamoa had the best day with eight tackles and one sack.

Holt or Bruce - Offensive MVP

Aeneas Williams - Defensive MVP - he had a few good rundowns

                          Offensive MVP -- Marc Bulger

Defensive MVP -- Me, because I could have played better than anyone on our D today.

Well, if we have to give MVP's on a game like this one.....

                            Offense - Bulger
                            Defense - I can't think of anyone...

Not to beat a dead horse, but I saw the game. Bulger's arm was in motion. He was thowing to an open receiver. The guy came from behind, along with Pace, stuck his arm out and the ball went spinning out and up. They guy just got lucky...it went right into his hands. What are the odds?
