After today's laugher! along with last weeks sqeeker . He now confirms my thoughts on himself as being a leader of this team! Actually it has gone back to his first year of taking over this team! Mad Mike is noooooooo Head coach (period). Anyone could have taken over this team and would have been this successful. If you can call his tenur here a success so far! then he goes and hires the DC from the Cards (which havent been that good in recent years) to try toget this D-fense up to par. IMPO its not going to happen! WE need D efensive tackles that will plug up the middle not continue to get run over! Offensive line should have been addressed also (didnt happen) But what did he do in the draft? (NOTHING that we really needed this year) Don't get me wrong here! I like Jackson!!!!! But, our needs we much greater! Got rid of the Qb that should be leading our team! Should have traded our draft picks for proven line help on both sides of the ball!!!!! Instead he is blundering this franchise he inhereted! I believe he should gracefully step down as head coach and return to his true calling as a oc! IMPO a head coach should be a decision maker and as of today his decisions totally suck! challenges ,timeouts,play calling,roster moves,getting this team focused week to week,etc. Now withthis resume would you as a business owner hire this guy to run your Franchise? Not me! Georgia open your eyes! You are loosing your Dynasty!...........................along with some fans i might add! If this Mad <Mike football continues you will loose more than just games and fans You also will loose revinue! Isnt that the reason you cut Kurt and company? Because it was a business decision that was supposed to help the team with it's cap. Did you like the results in the 90's? If not careful it will happen again with all the poor business decisions& game decision's your genius Head coach is dictating!........................i for one do not want to watch a team of this caliber to keep declining and loosing our oppertunity to be considered as a DYNASTY! I was sick of loosing for all of those years! Lets get back to winning!

Extreme overkill on this one. Martz was not perfect today but you cannot put it all on his shoulders for the lines on both sides playing terrible. I agree he needs to make adjustments. I am one of the biggest Martz bashers but most of the off season was a combination of Martz and F/O prolly more F/O. Dont ever forget that this is Georgias team anyone in So Cal knows that. And if you
still want to put it on Martz remember she decides wheteher he stays or go so it could all go back to her.

Av you wouldnt know anything about the game of football even if came up and slapped you in the face! Martz is the so called leader of this team is he not? He is the one that make's decisions is he not? He's the one that continues to make stupid and poor decisions is he not? If you can continue to give him the credit for winning then you have to give him the credit for losing would you not? I'd bet you that any one of the other coaches with this team would have won at least 1 Superbowl with the talent Mad Mike has had!...........Martz is no head coach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and hes the one to blame for keeping all of these so called no tacklers or blockers as you stated!.......He has the power on this team to get the right players in here to make blocks and tackles now doesnt he? Come on, guys. We lost to potential playoff team in their home opener. The odds makers had us picked to lose before we ever stepped on the field. Are we better than the 'cons? Yes, but that's why games are played. Just like we were better than the niners, last year, when we went to San Fran and got beat worse than we did today. We came out of that debacle and finished 12-4. We started last year 1-1 and in fact should have been 0-2. We came out fine. We will do so again this year. For Pete's sake, the Packers lost at HOME to the Bears and I don't hear anyone ready to write off their season.
We got problems, but I still say we can finish this season with double digit victories and a playoff berth. Nobody said this season was going to be pretty, but we will continue to be a playoff team.The more things change, the more they stay the same.Comment

All I can say is WOW!! I haven't always agreed with Martz, but c'mon it's only the second game of the season for goodness sake. Who else is going to run this team. Martz is the one who created the offense. If we get someone else things will be different, and I don't think it will be in a good way.

Theo, I find myself agreeing with you on a lot of things, but this isn't one of them. I think we're better, but they could win the NFC South. There are a few of you on here that absolutely think that MM is the next best thing to come along since peanut butter and jelly and were the first to jump on KW if i recall. What if this wasnt the Rams head coach continueing to keep making these horrible decisions with personnel,clock manag,challenges,excuses,(for the teams play etc.),play calling and on and on! Now wouldnt you think that they would be the laughing stock of the league! Not to mention that they would have been fired by now? Mad Mike does not make the plays on the field but,as a leader shouldn't you set an example? MARTZ SEEN THE GAME IN A MUCH DIFFERENT WAY IN THE BOOTH AND THATS WHERE HE SHOULD GO BACK TO!........He has no confidence in Bulger or he would start calling the wild and crazy plays he once called! Hell i tell my daughter what she wants to hear sometimes don't you? He doesnt want Marc to fail! because it would then look as though he didnt know what he was talking about or thinking by setting and then releasing Warner! It will bite him on the arse! I think Martz knew the challenge would fail. Really I don't have a problem with that challenge if Martz was simply using it to slow down the falcons momentum. The challenge certainly didn't lose the Rams the game. Actually I think it had very little effect on the final outcome, however, the defense held after the onsides recovery by atlanta. The Rams where the team driving for the wining score, in the last minutes of the game on Sunday, and the time ran out on us.
This week I did not hear one criticism of clock mismanagement in the game, pointed at the head coach of the Tards. Coach Green was not blasted as to why he had used all his time outs leaving none to finish with in the fourth quarter. He was not blasted for not calling two plays in the huddle to make sure everyone was on the same page. He was not ripped for giving up a win at home, when he had a great opportunity to pull it out.
If this were Martz, the media would be all over him, he uses his time outs poorly (still can’t remember this ever happening to us). Martz just is not a head coach, you need to teach the details, you can’t let thing like this ever happen, you as a head coach must know and make sure all your players including your QB are aware of the situation.

Mike Martz is 11-15 over his last 26 games as a coach. He might be good but that don’t mean we can’t get a good replacement. Lets be positive about this if Martz comes back good if he don’t then who cares lets look forward. You can’t tell me that everyone is just picking on Martz and he has had absolutely nothing to do with his problems with the FO. I must say that the owner and FO deserve some blame in the handling of the matter. But who is to say that Martz is not one of the primary people responsible for the issues. He is a control freak and may have over stepped his bounds in some areas we don’t know.

The loss today is not the important issue regarding the Rams.
If Seattle comes in and steals a win from the Rams it’s going to suck however that is not the important issue facing the Rams.
If we miss the playoffs that will really bite the big one however this is not what concerns me the most.
What concerns me the most is the direction this team is going. This team seems to go in the direction that they are in the mood for that day. They have shown they can play football, they have shown they are capable of becoming motivated however that motivation is usually absent and it seems that no body in the organization is able to take charge and get the team motivated to play ball at the level they are capable of.
It's not always the head coach that is the motivator. Some people just cannot rally others together as well as others. It doesn't necessarily have to be the head coach that motivates a team but it sure as hell is his responsibility to see that someone gets it done.
The Ravens have Ray Lewis but who's our guy? Anyone care to take a shot at naming our motivator? The truth is, our motivators have been cut, traded or just plain shat on by the Rams. London Fletcher may have not been the best linebacker that played the game but he sure as hell brought his attitude with him on Sundays. Billy Jenkins, Roman Phifier, Rickey Prohel, Az Hakim, Dre Bly Todd Kichen, Toby Wright all had the ability to get the team going.
So out go those guys and in comes Kyle Turley who in my mind was the final straw on the Rams breaking back. He may have been a motivator but his motivation was clearly from his own selfish agenda which was to dismantle the team starting with Warner then take a years hiatis while the smoke cleared.
So now we are left with the crumbled aftermath and we do not know which direction this team is headed. That is the important issue facing the Rams right now.
Which way are we going and how far must we fall before considerable changes are made.
I know I am the minority in this but I think that head coaches should not be given the lead way they are given when it comes down to hiring their staff. To many of them use the good old boy system of repaying people who employed them in another era or just want to help out a buddy. Sure it's noble to repay someone for helping you out along the way but at what expense? When is it ok to say no? If i'm not mistaken didn't Martz also hire a high school coach out of San Diego using the same good old boy system?
The statement made by Martz regarding calling the defense on the one play when the Rams were torched for a TD last week Vs. Miami didn't make a lick of sense and when something doesn't make sense someone is usually lying. Get your head out of your perpendiculiar! Sure it's been a tough week...a tough five weeks. Are you all going to lay around and cry about it or get some attitude and get behind your team!. I'm never going to be a member of this SLOP. It just doesn't sound good, and its just not right. This is our coach, and for now, he is the leader of our team!
I don't have any interest in listening to those negative vibes. Are we great...no. are we good...no. Are we all Rams fans...HELL YES!!!
Av, if you want to play your mind games to get the dialogue going, I don't have a problem with that. But, these are our RAMS! You don't need to put one Rams fan against another...like puppets on a string. I have nothing but respect for your contributions on this board, but, why would you choose to polarize the ClanRam? I cannot understand that for a minute.
That said, I don't think anyone here will discount the horrid play calling in the Panthers game, nor the lack of effort that we have seen over the last few weeks. But, I believe in our new coach and what he's trying to accomplish. No, I'm not happy with what has transpired recently, but, I think we all have to remember that he's a new coach, a 1st year coach, that needs to feel his way through and learn from his first year.
Do I have anything against the SLOP people? No, I understand their frustration. Do I think the criticism is premature? No I don't. Do I think calling for our coach's head at this time is crazy? Yes I do. This is not a question of loyalty. It is a question of faith. And I think many of you lack the faith and patience it takes to put in the building blocks to truly turn a team around. Linehan did not inherit a 12-4 team. He got a 6-10 team that was questionable at best. None of us felt we would be a playoff caliber team this year, yet many of you believe we have failed. We have not failed, we have done what most of us expected us to do. Granted, we have not done it in the fashion that we had hoped, but guess what, neither have the Steelers or many other teams that should have done better this year. Look at John Gruden and his team...is he a fake or a respectable coach? Cut your team some slack people. Sit back and have a drink or whatever it is you do...its gonna take some time.
Nine games does not a season make. Nor a first year rookie coach! You can complain all you want about the way we came to be 4-5. But, the fact remains, our offensive line is a disaster, in shambles, and our QB is getting pumelled. For years our run defense has been a joke and we can't defend a pass to save our life.
Is everything right in Ramsville? No. Well, it hasn't been for a long time. Long before the new coaching staff got here.
