    Finally!

    well .. I finally made it to the ClanRam.com boards .. let me introduce myself .. the alias is RammStein .. I've had the name for 6 years now didn't know about the band until 3 years ago .. but I decided not to give it up .. why the name RammStein .. well there are many explanations but this one will do .. I have a Battling Ram type of additude and I like to drink .. or use to that is .. and I'm a Ram Fan

    my history of being a Ram Fan:

    I was 7 years old going to an California Angels(now Anaheim Angels) baseball game .. I looked around the stadium in ahhhh and saw the LA Rams logo next to the California Angels logo (this was back in 1984) .. so being the little kid and not as logical thinking as I am now .. I figured if I loved the Angels(which I still do) and this team named the Rams played in the same stadium then I MUST like them too .. hence why I became a Ram fan .. and even through those tough years when the crappy Niners beat the Rams 13 straight times I NEVER gave up on my Rams .. I'm not to happy about the move to St. Louis .. but Georgie wont damper my love for the Rams .. I've been on cloud nine ever since the season the Rams shocked the NFL world .. so with that

    GO RAMS!

    ps .. I signed up for this board before the Fins game but because that virus Nimba got to my email account couldn't varify .. now I have and wanted to say to the Fins fans that took the time to come to this board to gloat about their wins over ravens and raiders .. when did you EVER think you could beat the Rams .. you Fins got LUCKY with the Raiders and as for the Ravens .. they needed their heads popped .. thanks for doing that!

    Welcome RammStein, hope you enjoy being a Clanrammer. Those fins have a half decent defense but by the end of the game Sunday they were running round like headless chickens, it was great to watch

      Welcome, RammSteinm! Love the name!

      I'll be brave enough to say I'm a bandwagoner that jumped on before the '99 season, partly because the Rams have been holding their last 6 summer training camps here in Macomb, Illinois. They are stuck with me as a fan now. In case you couldn't tell from the name, #98 DE Grant Wistrom is my favorite.

        Choosing the Rams before 1999 is hardly jumping on the bandwagon, considering we were in the running as "the worst team of the decade" at that time.

        Is so nice hardly being able to remember those days...

          Yeah, but you know we shouldn't ever forget those times. Winning is that much sweeter for those of us who lived through ten years of some of the most rotten football ever seen. Enjoy Kurt Warner remembering Steve Bono. Enjoy Marshall Faulk remembering Ironhead Heyward.

            So many years can never be forgotten; those times scar forever. But we survived and, you're right, it does make it sweet. I get a big laugh in moments like a couple days ago when my friend thought I was making up the answer to "who was the Rams leading rusher before Faulk?" with "June Henley".

              Pre-Glory Days

              My personal favorite memory of the bad old days was Coach Vermeil driving to Lincoln, Nebraska to pick up our first round pick. You all remember Lawrence Phillips? Who Coach V picked up from jail?

              Thank the lord that Vermeil brought in Martz to build The Greatest Show on Earth, that John Shaw and Jay Zygmut went out and got Marshall, and that Kurt Warner came out of nowhere.

              FYI, I've only been a fan since the team moved to StL; can some of the longer fans share what the "Fearsome Foresome" or Dickerson/Everitt days were like in L.A.?

                I drove to Indianapolis the first year in St. Louis after the 4-0 start. I was talking smack too; and there were quite a few Rams fans there. We got beat, and the slide was long and fast (very very very long). Football is like dating sometimes; feast or famine. A single man may go months without dating a woman, and then once you start, they come out of the woodwork. You can lose for years, then suddenly get good now. We had famine for a long time, enjoy the feast.

                  Best choice for you would be to get onto ebay or amazon and get a copy of "Headslap" by Deacon Jones, the book (can't remember the title) by Pat Haden about his rookie year, or other old books about Rams history. Full of outstanding and colorful guys!

                    I agree with Txramfn. We should all make the most of being a Rams fan now. Hoop it up at the sports bar.....Wear the Rams colors proud.....Try to catch a few games in person and high five every fellow Ramfan around.

                    While doing this, pray that we can keep it going for a long time.

                        This is a great time to be a Rams fan.I never thought I would be able to root for a Rams team this damn good.Joining ClanRam has made this season even more enjoyable.I 'm glad I finally got a puter.My most painful memory during the bad ol' days was when Knox pulled Everett and put T.J Rubley in.I knew the end had come.Ironically,that game was against the Lions,so the way I see it,we owe the Lions a good butt kicking.They've gotten the best of us the last few times around.

                            Another Old Ram fan has come on board!

                            Hello everyone. I just signed on here yesterday, found the place by accident, actually. But, it's nice to find a place where I can talk about my favorite sports team. I'm in Huntington Beach California, and have watched and followed the Rams since their playing days at the LA coliseum. Unlike many of my fellow Ram fans here in So. Cal, I stayed with the horns even though that "b***h" took my team away from me and moved them to St Louis. Anyway, it's great to get online here and read and chat about the Rams. Tonight's the first preseason game of 2006, and I'm so anxious to see the "new-look" Rams. I guess one good thing about being a Ram fan in California is I get to see the game on TV, which I understand is blacked out locally. Hmmmmm, that situation sounds familiar. In the last few dismal years in LA, we suffered the same fate. Dwindling attendance and blackouts. For you guys in St. Louis, don't let that happen! Support your team, or Madam Ram may.... well, you never know. GO RAMS!!!!

                            Don't know how I've been a Rams fan and internet junkie for so long and never came across this site, but I'm glad I found it. It's great to see so many Rams fans in one spot and such an active forum.

                            Some history...I live in Bakersfield, which is sort of in between San Francisco and L.A. My brother and Dad were ***** fans, so of course being the obnoxious brat I was, decided to become a Rams fan just to piss them off (I guess I could really claim to be a real fan sometime around 3rd-4th grade). Well as you know we were the niners', heck the whole league's during the 90's, red headed step children for a long time and my family and friends (I knew no other Rams fans; everyone mostly liked the Raiders, *****, or Cowboys) loved to give me hell about it.

                            Through the playoff let downs in the late 80's (who could forget Jim Everett's "phantom sack") and the royal spankings we received in the 90's I remained true. When the team moved to St Louis in '95 they broke my heart. I had yet been able to go to L.A. to see them play and I knew my chance was over. I, like many fans, felt betrayed by their leaving, and many Rams fans I knew took this as an excuse to jump ship from the fast sinking Rams team. I too considered this and even at one point tried to find another team to cheer for, but no other team felt right to me; in fact it just felt plain wrong. The first few years in St Louis were rough, and like always I would tell myself, "There's always next year", and sit there hopelessly as Georgia Frontiere made bad trade after bad trade and would continually get rid of all our promising stars.

                            As we all know things changed dramatically in '99 with the arrival of Faulk and the blessing sent from above named Kurt Warner. That season was the season of my life. I felt pride in my team that I had never known before. When we won the Superbowl, it was an amazing thing...our years of being a second rate team were over. Even when we got robbed by the Patriots in Super Bowl XXXVI I was still proud...crushed by the loss, but proud.

                            The last few years have been a little rough since I got so used to the winning we were doing. Losing to the ***** twice last year killed me.

                            Let's skip to now and let me say I am glad Martz is gone. He was a great Offensive Coordinator, but made way too many bad decisions to deserve a head coaching job. We have a long season ahead of us, and Scott Linehan has a lot to prove, but I am confident in their game plan, the defense of Jim Haslett, and the running game of Stephen Jackson to go along with our always amazing passing game. It may not gel perfectly this year, but we are definitely headed in the right direction, and I can say without a doubt I will be a Rams fan until the day I die.

                            I finally got a chance to go see the rams play in St Louis last year against the Titans. Got 2nd row seats in the middle of...

                            It started when I was very young. I was introduced to the "fearsome foursome." I did not understand much about the game but I liked the color of the uniforms and they sure did tackle that QB quite a bit. The past 23 years have been pretty rough. We had fleeting glory for a few years making all of the misery from the 90's go away. But now we once again toil in the bottom rung of the NFL year after year. I cannot give up my allegiance to this team even though they break my heart time and time again. I just keep coming back for more abuse. I know to many of you, this is may sound strange but I just cannot give them up. Even after they left my home state I still root for this team...Each year, I have a new attitude and expectation that this year will be different. I revel in the offseason signings and salivate over our TOP draft picks. I read all of the hoopla surrounding my beloved Rams and I count the days to the first kick off. Then, reality sets in....

                            Again, my name is Mike and I am a Ram fan.

                            I'm a die hard SoCal Ram fan going to Oakland for the first time with Faider Fan Friends wearing all my Ram gear. I'll be the only Ram fan in my group so just in case the situation becomes unfriendly I'd like to know where I could find my ClanRam brethren. I'm sure there will be plenty of Ram representation so at least I won't starve if I get booted away from the food! These Faider Fans are pretty rude you know.

                            Hello to all!!!
                            I've been reading the forum for a couple months (basically since the start of the season) and decided to finally register.

                            I had a chance to be at the Rams/Cards game here in AZ a few weeks back and was bitin' my nails till the last snap. Nice that we pulled out a close victory. Go Rams!!!

                            Anyhow, I was born and raised in the Los Angeles area (Torrance, CA to be exact) and always tried to keep up on my Rams, Dodgers, Lakers, and Trojans. As I've gotten older my passion for sports has grown along with the love of my favorite teams.

                            One team I didn't mention above was the Raiders. At one time, in the not too distant past, I considered myself a part of the Raider Nation as well. (Hope you all don't hold that against me). Over time I've realized I was just being a part-time Rams fan.

                            Well, this year sealed the deal. With the direction the two teams seem to be taking I decided to mend my ways and focus on being a full-time Rams fan.

                            So, to everyone on this board: Thanks for having me and here's to the start of being a true Rams fan.
