  • Question about an ex-Ram

This question was asked by a Giants fan on their board and it surprized me that I had not idea about the answer. Of course, sometimes there isn't a reason at all but here's the question:

Why does Kurt Warner wear number 13?

It's trivial at best, but I am curious if there's an actual reason for the choice in number. He is obviously attached to it since he switched from #10 his rookie year in 1998 back to #13 in 1999. He wore it in Europe as well as for the Barnstormers too.

Was his favorite player Marino? Anyone out there actually know the answer?

    Re: Question about an ex-Ram

I recall reading that it was actually an anti-superstition statement. Because of his faith, he does not believe in "unlucky" numbers, like 13, so he chose that jersey number as a symbol of his belief.

        Re: Question about an ex-Ram

"I had worn number 12 in high school, a la Roger Staubach, but that was taken so I settled on 13...I think I took 13 because it was the closest number to 12 and because a guy named Dan Marino was putting up some pretty nice numbers in the NFL with that jersey." He also goes on to say 13 is spiritual because he wanted to "demystify" the superstition

          Question about Rod Smart
          by Milan
Rod Smart is a former XFL player, who played this season with the Panthers as their KR. He was cut March first or so.

Does Rod Smart still wear the "He Hate Me" jersey?

          Question about Pasquerelli comments
          by Anghellic
Len P. had written this in one of his articles:

"Behind all the glitz of the high-octane offense that marked Martz's tenure with the Rams, this has been a dysfunctional franchise, one fraught with infighting and influence-peddling and internecine bickering, and with considerable palace intrigue. There is a sense that everyone has his own agenda, that the various departments rarely work in concert, and that things are frayed at the seams. Someone has to restore order and functionality to the operation."

My question is, is this true? Or just more unfounded babbling on Pasquerelli's part? I haven't seen anything from the Rams to make me believe this at all, but I'm not really an "insider" so I don't know. I was wondering if maybe people in StL had heard more about it from local coverage or something - that's a pretty big accusation and just had me a little concerned, I'd appreciate any feedback and I apologize if this is already being discussed.

          World Series Question
          by Bar-bq
I'm watching the World Series right now as it's being televised in Australia. We get the regular season too.

Catching my eye is the umpire standing behind the plate, behind the catcher. he appears to be wearing A SUIT? Why on earth is he wearing a SUIT?

Question For Those Who Have Attended A Game This Year
          by r8rh8rmike
Is the new bag policy a non-issue? I really thought it would be troublesome, but I have not heard about any problems what so ever. I'm curious because I'd like to be prepared to go early if need be.
