Is WR Reggie Brown on the Rams radar? –based on speculation ; Article by by VanRam (yahoo sports)

"According to a report at RotoWorld, ESPN's Adam Schefter confirmed today on Sports Center that the Eagles are willing to trade WR Reggie Brown thanks to a cup or receivers that runneth over. And the Rams could be a possible destination. Besides the need, the Rams connection should be obvious: Brown played for the Eagles where Rams offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur was the QBs coach."

"Like another recently traded player, Brown could benefit from a change of scenery. The Rams would get an young (he's 28), experienced receiver who knows Shurmur's offense. If Brown has anything left - one rough season shouldn't be the deciding factor - and the price is right, that would give the Rams nice depth at WR. With Avery having missed plenty of time with a broken foot, the team could use some familiarity in the receiver ranks. Brown would be in the top four with Avery, Robinson, and Burton.

The Rams do have an open roster spot at the moment, thanks to their decision to place WR Brooks Foster on IR. Of course, they could easily find roster space if the right opportunity came along."

I know it's only speculation, but what our your thoughts on this?

Hmmm, interesting, but I'm not sure what we would trade for him at this point. He works better as a #2 WR, which means he could potentially work well for us, but he has underachieved alot, not sure if we want that on this team at this moment....but this could potentially be an interesting move.

Not too crazy. As trade rumors go this one is among the more likely I think. If he was cheap enough it might be worth considering if Shurmur wants him and thinks that he can succeed in our offense. I'm not sure what kind of value we would be looking at for a trade, 6th round pick perhaps?

isnt he quite far down the depth chart, in danger of being beaten out by the likes of Hank Baskett and Jason Avant?

is he even going to contribute if he came here? Is he going to be better than Derek Stanley or Ronald Curry? because he sure as hell isnt beating out Donnie Avery or Laurent Robinson

See if they'll take the recently-acquired 7th rounder the Rams are now in possession of?

Kidding aside, I think Brown's familiarity with the offense would definitely make him intriguing. He had a down year last season but I think coming here where he'll have opportunities to contribute and playing in a system he's familiar with would be a nice situation for him.

Outside of Robinson, none of the Rams receivers have really broken out this preseason. While we'd like to think that these guys can develop, sometimes you also have to look at what's available elsewhere and bite on a good opportunity. Which is exactly what we did with Robinson.

Yeah, I agree. I think when an opportunity like this arises, we should jump on it. Brown is a quality receiver, and with the Rams, these guys are being given a chance to really prove themselves. Draft status means nothing, guys need to earn their positions, and I think it'd be a win/win for the Rams and Brown.

I would love it. We should never have let him go.

I actually think he is an upgrade over Stanley and Curry. For a low rounder I would definately think about adding him. Burton IMO hasn't really set the world on fire Robinson has been great and Avery is still here. I think he could be a good fit as a number 4 guy and could even outshine Burton.

IF we can get him for a lower round, I'm all for it.
