Defensive tackle Adam Carriker of the St. Louis Rams says he is scheduled for surgery Wednesday to repair a torn muscle in his right shoulder. Carriker said he has a 75 percent tear in the subscapularis muscle in the shoulder. The supscapularis is the deepest muscle of the rotator cuff.
The surgery will be performed in Houston by Dr. David Litner. Carriker said the expected recovery time is about four months. Carriker suffered the injury in the third quarter of Thursday’s preseason finale against Kansas City and was placed on the injured reserve list Saturday by the Rams.
