  • The Rams and Kory Sheets

As a Ram's sympathizer and longtime ***** fan I feel as though I should give you guys a hint and tell you to sign our practice squad guy Kory Sheets.

While you may think this is sarcastic it is in fact, completely serious.

Throughout all of camp and most of the preseason we viewed this guy essentially the same as Glen Coffee..who wound up skyrocketing on teams radars over the preseason.

It's miraculous the kid even cleared waivers, but with the Ram's situation and RB currently I think it'd be a wise investment if you clamored for this guy to be your number 2.

He can run 40's in the 4.3's and catch the ball out of the backfield...which is basically a requirement in St Louis. Plus you'd get him super cheap...It'll either be you guys or the Seahawks who wind up with him...and I hate me some Hasselbeck.

Here's some highlights just so you actually believe.

I'll give you credit he doesn't look half bad, and I'm far from being thrilled with Darby.

Granted, everyone looks good in a highlight video. But, I like what I see. The kid has some moves that's for sure. I think he'd be worth a look. I'm not excited about Darby or Gado at this point. We need to do something.

Maybe DeSpags secretly lurk here at the greatest Rams website on the planet and will see the video. Hey, it could happen. I'm just say'in...

He looks good in the videos. Got some moves, some speed, he can catch, and he knows how to celebrate in the end zone.

Why are niners not keeping him?

I believe the niners really do like him, but they have too much talent at RB already, and Sheets is a RB without much ability in the KR/FB/TE arena. Basically, he is a third-down back with a lot of speed.

Looks like he could be a good return guy. Have they tried him out there? He is not big enough to play FB or TE.

Like I said, he does not have much value at KR at this point, although he might be able to learn. The niners have a pretty good return guy in Allen Rossum, as well as good back-ups and Sheets has zero value in special teams coverage, so that is why we haven't used him there. It usually is not a good idea to try out new people with no experience as returners this late in the schedule, as they have a tendency to drop kicks, which invariably leads to touchdowns for the opponent.

I think he would fit in good with the system the more I think about it. He can get yards after the catch and has shown some break out moves from scrimmage. Well, it's fun to dream.
