After reading all the posts with the moans, groans, congrats, slagging off, praising the Rams and/or Seaslags since the game yesterday. There is one overwhelming thing which smacked me straight in my face this morning.
Maybe, for once we were the 'unlucky' team here, and in certain quarters, a small section of the clan just cant see what i mean and what i'm getting at.
I mainly need to bring us back to 2 games over the last few weeks, the games in question - Rams/Cards and Rams/Packers. what was the common theme?
Can we honestly say with hand on heart THAT unless Warner had'nt fumbled with their field position in FG range, we would have WON that game?
Can we honestly say with hand on heart THAT unless favre had'nt fumbled ALSO with their field position in FG range, we would have WON that game?
Lucky, destiny, whatever you wish to call it was on our side in them 2 games and we walked away just, with 2 wins.
I bring you to yesterday - as i write this sadly, i've not been able to access any of the game, so all i'm writing is from the game reports, posts, game stats, and from what was said in the chatroom last night, so in a small way i maybe missing a key point here.
IMHO we got beat by 3 FGs, simple as, stats wise we matched and bettered the Seaslags, ok we blew a 21-7 lead, thats says more about their O than our D IMHO.
So the game came down to a 54 yard FG on the buzzer, Brown hits, Seaslags win, Brown miss's, Rams win! sadly it when the way of the former,
So, are we feeling how the Cards and Packers felt at the time?
Would we rather have lost the 2 games, Packers/Cards YET beat Seaslags(thus making us what would be 3-3)
Would we rather have won the 2 games against Cards/Packers, and the Seaslags beat us?
I know where/which situation i would like to be in.
So, what we got dealt yesterday, losing on the buzzer to a 54 yd FG, with an overview of WHAT may have easily happened to us over the last weeks, lets go away lick our wounds, enjoy and work hard through our bye week.
Maybe for once, we, the Rams Franchise and fans have tasted a little Humble Pie back onto ourselves.
