...Indianapolis Colts fan here.
Nice board you have here. I'm not here to talk smack I just like to see some of the opinions and ideas of other teams fans.
I know the Rams are in a down period and I know what that it like (Been a Colts fan since I was 10 years old back in '93). The Colts had a few down, almost hopeless seasons until hope was restored in '98 (though '95 wasn't too bad). But anyway...
I'm here to look at the positives.
I'm pretty sure I don't have to tell you, but Steven Jackson is a monster. He is one of my favorite players outside of the Colts. If I could take any RB and put him on the Colts it would no doubt be Steven Jackson due to his all around abilities let alone his power running skills. I've had several arguments with people wanting Adrian Peterson on the Colts, but Jackson would fit much better.
Spags was a very good DC in New York and I'm sure (in time) he can get the D in St. Louis to play very well. Just imagine if he could get a defensive line rotation on the Rams like he had in NY. That alone could improve every aspect of your D. I wish Carricker could get healthy for you guys and Long could play up to his potential, that would certainly speed up the process.
It seems like you have some keepers in OJ Atogwe, Ron Bartell, and so far James Laurinaitis.
Patience of course is the key (I'm also an Indiana Pacer fan so I know what it is like to have to have patience...not that I like to). In time that D should be good. I'm not quite sure about the offense, besides Jackson of course. But if that D becomes as good as I think it can the Rams could win with some ball control offense in the future. I know it's probably hard to go from "The Greatest Show on Turf" to grind-it-out ball, I know it's a cliche, but I don't think you'll care to much when you guys start winning again.
