Game 5 Preview: Rams at Seahawks
Tuesday, Oct. 05 2004
3:15 p.m. Sunday at Qwest Field
The series
In what has the makings of a good rivalry, the teams have split four games
since realignment brought Seattle into the NFC West in 2002. The Rams lead the
overall series 7-4 and are 3-3 against the Seahawks since the move to St. Louis
in '95.
Both games went down to the wire last season, with Seattle rallying from a
13-point fourth-quarter deficit to win 24-23 in Seattle in September, and the
Rams hanging on for a 27-22 victory in St. Louis last December.
The stats
WR Isaac Bruce is the first NFL or AFL player to begin a season with four
100-yard receiving games since Charley Hennigan of the Houston Oilers in 1963.
* * *
Against San Francisco, RB Marshall Faulk moved into second place on the Rams'
career rushing charts with 6,206 yards. He passed Lawrence McCutcheon,
currently the Rams' director of player personnel.
Connections
Seattle DE Grant Wistrom was a No. 6 overall draft pick by the Rams in 1998,
and a five-year starter for St. Louis (1999-2003).
* * *
Rams OT Grant Williams spent his first four NFL seasons with the Seahawks after
signing there as an undrafted rookie in 1996.
