  • Talent on this Team?

On this Rooster how many players actually have the talent for the NFL.

    Jackson.

    Bulger sometimes.

    Atagwee.

    Little. and hes old.

We need some real Talent on this team. I will stick with the coaches, but

the rams should have traded Jackson for future picks. We wasted his

trade value. What if he gets hurt? Rebuild means "Rebuild".

Got NFL ticket!. Pay 300$ to watch the Rams in HD. I must know nothing
about football. <<<< period.;) Dont take it to heart. Imagine your not a Ram fan and look at the team that way. Then
      you will see the truth.

i'm certainly not disagreeing with the fact that we are short on talent and not a very good team. but to say that jackson and atogwe are the only guys with nfl talent is stupid.

I don't think OJ is an elite player. He does have a nose for the ball but he also gets beat alot. Pro Bowler? No.

how can u not say donnie jones doesnt have talent he is the second player in NFL HISTORY! to average 50 yards a punt in a season. he had to punts go inside of the two yard line today!!!!! with out him we would have have lost at least by 20 more points. with our stagnic offense he is our best weapon giving oppents bad field position everytime he punts

in fact we have many players who have talent but our coaches are not using our player strength yet. hopefully that will change with more coaching experience.

I wouldn't say the Rams don't have some talent. But this rebuilding process is going to be long and painful. For instance, I don't think Bulger is a great QB. I think he's a good NFL starter, but I don't think he's in that upper echelon that will win a championship without a lot of help. I do believe that he could be better with Jackson running the ball. I think our receiving corps is inexperienced but has a lot of promise. I think Avery is a future talent. I also think that Laurent Robinson's injury drastically changed this offense, and there have been no adjustments because there is little to turn to. I still think another solid receiver who can play would have been a smarter move in a trade or pickup. Not a big name, but someone who can run routes, get open, and make plays. An upgrade along the offensive line (like replacing Barron) would also help. On the defensive side of the ball, Atogwe is a solid player. I like Dahl because he is a hitter. James Butler knows Spagnuolo's system, and can play. Bradley Fletcher is a rookie, but I like his work ethic and he could become a talent. I also think that Laurenaitis is quickly becoming an upper echelon NFL talent, but due to hard work. This guy will be great in a couple of years.

I guess what I'm trying to say is there is NFL calibre talent in St. Louis, but a massive rebuilding effort will be in order to right the ship. Personally, I think a Jimmy Johnson or Bill Parcells approach (bringing in players that can PLAY, not just name) ALL THE TIME would provide the kick start this team needs. Being in danger of being on the street should motivate some of these guys.

Manning got touched not once from our defense today. Just a simple pitch and catch easy time for Peyton as he got no pressure if any from the Rams def frontline, Not much talent there! Rams have talent, they just don't have REDZONE talent!

Manning hasn't been sacked in four games now...

Keep in mind that even guys like Travis Fisher and Jimmy Kennedy could find work with other NFL teams. I think laramsfan73 is on track with his comment about Bulger, except I would take it further. We have lots of players who are pretty good but aren't going to win championships without a lot of help. We have role players but few stars.

For example, Bartell might be an above average #2 corner, but a below average #1. Long could be a very good left defensive end if we had a premier pass rusher on the right. Donnie Avery would fit nicely in a role similar to the Saints' Devery Henderson if he had a guy like Colston starting on the other side and a quarterback like Drew Brees throwing to him.

we need at least one receiver..probably a tight end. o-line needs work. we need a backup hb, a new qb. probably 3 d-line guys, an end and 2 dt's. possibly a corner, probably at least one linebacker. we're not that far off. on o we're weak up front and don't have receivers to make plays in the red zone. on d we're weak up front and can't bring any pressure on opposing qb's without blitzing a lot of guys. good teams are built from the inside out, we need help on the oline and dline above everything else in my opinion.
