The St. Louis Rams have signed long snapper Ryan Neill to replace the injuired Chris Massey as the team’s long snapper. Neill was the long snapper for the Buffalo Bills in 2007 and ‘08.

The Rams chose Neill over three other long snappers who worked out Monday at Rams Park, including Belleville East High and University of Illinois product Nathan Hodel. Massey will undergo surgery for an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his left knee next month. He suffered the injury running down a Donnie Jones punt Sunday against Indianapolis.

Wasn't he married to Farah Fawcett at one time? I guess he's been out of work since doing "Love Story". Man that was a long time ago. Well now we know what he's been doing. Practicing his long-snapping. Kinda of a strange carrer change but I suppose it works for him.;)

I feel really bad for Chris. He tries to be on the field no matter what.

A couple of seasons ago, he played over half of the season with a muscle tear in his groin. He waited until after the season to have that surgery.

Remember, the longsnapper is at the mercy of his fellow linemates - if they don't protect him, he gets creamed. Then, he heads down the field to make a play on the ball carrier.

I was wondering why I saw Bajama (sp) in there ..... thought that was strange:|

well hopefully he will be as unonimous as Massey was to the average fan..that means he will be doing a good job. feel sorry for Massey..and hope we dont end up missing him too much, because as long snappers go..theres been nobody better than him since he entered the league.

thank god we didnt sign that Long snapper the Bengals cut after that mare of a game against the Ravens..even tho it would be cool to have someone called St Louis playing for St.Louis..

Yeah but he and his son have been going in and out of jail so much, he's been too busy to play!

I read that Massey had one bad snap in over 700 attempts. Imagine if Barron played that consistently well!

Its really hard to lose Chris Massey. He was one of the best players on this team and he always gave it his all. Hope he has a full recovery!
