  • Rams make final plans for Lions behind closed doors

    By Bill Coats
    St. Louis Post-Dispatch

In a first-of-its-kind move, St. Louis Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo ordered reporters to leave the indoor facility, where practice was held Friday, for the final four plays of the 90-minute workout. Those plays must have been doozies, something never before seen on a football field. Look out Lions!

Or, maybe Spagnuolo simply wanted to discuss plans for the team’s Halloween party in private.

Of course, we jest. But whatever the case, he must have sworn everyone to secrecy, because no one was giving up any info afterward.

    Notes & quotes:

*David Vobora has reclaimed his starting spot a SLB after his four-week suspension. Spagnuolo indicated that Larry Grant might get some work there, too, in Detroit.

*Although Spagnuolo wouldn’t fully commit, it looks like Quincy Butler will start at CB in place of the injured Bradley Fletcher. There could be some rotation there involving Justin King and Jonathan Wade.

*Richie Incognito (foot) is out for Sunday’s game. Adam Goldberg will start in his place at RG. DL C.J. Ah You (ankle) was listed as questionable on the final injury report of the week. King (groin), WR Donnie Avery (shoulder), DT Clifton Ryan (illness) and DE James Hall (groin) were probable.

*Ryan was back at practice Friday after being out Thursday.

*It appears as if QB Matthew Stafford and WR Calvin Johnson will be in the lineup for the Lions. Both had been nursing knee injuries.

    All for now…

"OMG! Is that Spagnuolo putting on a helmet? It is! He's lining up as a wide receiver!"

i reckon it was Laurinaitis being used in a Vrabel on offense kind of role...i can live with that..he`s surely caught more balls than Tim Carter has this season..
we gonna go with 4 wideouts but he`s trying out defensive players who can make plays on offense if needed.

also a possibility could be playing Fells as a wideout.

Probably Avery taking snaps in the wildcat formation.
