Normally, players come up with their own names or the team starts it off but there isnt anything that has popped up so maybe the Ram nation can come up with something to label our star RB. Dude needs a name. His play and the way he looks when he runs with his dreds flopping all over the place reminds me of the predator. Thoughts?

Re: Steven Jackson THE PREDATOR!!!
Well the name "Action" Jackson has been thrown about a bit, and while good, it just doesnt convey the damage that Jackson does when running at people!
His teammates have been calling him "Beast", and its quite obvious why.
I reckon Juggernaut would be a good one, from the comics, since once he gets running no one can stop him.@EssexRam_

Re: Steven Jackson THE PREDATOR!!!
Funny you say that Guam, I have thought the exact same thing, particurly when he
whips his helmet off, hair flailing all over and the sheer size of his head. Id bet hes bin
called Predator a few times, but I think " The Beast " will do just fine. I believe he's the best all-round back in the NFL with A.Peterson, then MJD.
To be second in the league on a poor team facing 9 in the box every week is amazing.
He also doesnt get the benefit of padding his stats with long runs like the other top backs do. I dont think any of the other backs would thrive as much as Jackson playing
for the Rams. Maybe MJD would be a close second?

Re: Steven Jackson THE PREDATOR!!!
There have been highlight videos posted on his website where they call him the predator and are predator themed. Someone should contact Chris Burman about this and other sportscasters so that the nickname will stick so they can call him that when the Rams are good and shown on nationally televised games in a few years.

Re: Steven Jackson THE PREDATOR!!!
He's been called many names, "The Horse, Train, Action Jackson, Beast.
How about Traction Jackson or Rampage Jackson- I think thier's already a
Rampage in the UFC. I like the beast or TJ , short for TractionJackson?
Pathetic I know, But at least ive tried.:ram:

Im making this thread because of some comments about Jackson I have seen on youtube, on some nfl blogs. Although it doesn't matter to me what they think, i think Steven Jackson has the running skill and quality, to be a pro bowler and possible a Hall of Famer.
But im a little concerned, is this going to a repeat story of Eric Dickerson. A pounding back with similar size, similar speed, similar running style who is not considered in some of the great running backs of all time. I consider him, but i think he is also under appreciated, just like Jackson.
When i look at Dickerson's running style, his story, i see Steven Jackson's story taking the same course that Dickerson's career took. And it kind of scares me cause Dickerson never got a ring.
Is Jackson headed down this same path? Or am i being over dramatic, just wanna know what you guys think?
I am optimistic of this season, and the next. And i think maybe these years will be the years, Jackson and the Ram Squad changes thier stars. I love this team and everything it is, as usual i always try to look for the best in my boys.-

by dgr828Steven Jackson just can't seem to stop dancing before hitting to holes. He would have much more success if he could just run straight through the tackles. He had one breakout run for a TD, which was nice, but most of the time he's stuttter stepping, dancing back and forth, sometimes with unnecessary jukes that leads to being stuffed at the line or loss of yardage. Steven would do best to leave the dancing to his brother, Michael!

“Our response to an offense determines our future.” – Author John Bevere, “The Bait of Satan.”
Right there in black and white for his eyes to see, Steven Jackson constantly goes back to this book. It’s one of his favorites though if you ask him to name them it might take a while because he’s constantly diving into a new one.
On the surface, passages like the one above might seem simple. Then again, on the surface, a person might be viewed the same way.
What you don’t know is how complicated something or someone can be when you dig a littler deeper. In the case of Steven Jackson, a little closer look can reveal something you never would have guessed or even attempted to try.
A BORN LEADER
At the conclusion of nearly every Rams practice, a few players always lag behind the group on the long walk back to the locker room. Some stay behind and catch passes, others work on footwork. They all do it by choice but some undoubtedly do it because that’s what Jackson does.
Jackson is the one who will quickly peel off his pads and run extra gassers, not because he’s out of shape but because it sets the right example of what it takes to be successful.
The Rams have the fourth-youngest team in the NFL with an average age of right around 26. Coincidentally, Jackson is the same age. But because he entered the league when he was only 20, Jackson’s ascent to a leadership role has happened quicker than most.
As he’s grown and developed as a player, he’s seen players come and go and just now, in 2009, has he taken it upon himself to become the leader of this young group.
“I have seen nothing but great things,” coach Steve Spagnuolo said. “His greatness in that regard, in the leadership regard is shining right now when it’s not the best of times and the results haven’t been what we want. I’m not going to share with you one other thing but there was something he did that meant the world to me and I appreciated him and how he’s gone about things right now.”
Growing up in Las Vegas, Jackson’s lessons in leadership began at an early age. His father, Steve, practically majored in the subject as a Marine veteran in the Vietnam War.
That meant plenty of “yes, sir” and “no, sir” in the Jackson household but it also began a cultivation process in the planting of those seeds of leadership.
Jackson learned a lot of the details from his father, things like always being on time, keeping your word and being dressed presentably for every occasion. Those little things that can determine one’s character.
“You have to go through a maturation of becoming a leader,” Jackson said. “Everyone doesn’t have leadership qualities but those...-

by psycho9985I'm not on the stephan Jackson band wagon, sure the guy gets yardage, but I'm not seeing it when the chips are down.I dont like the way he hops and skips around trying to find a hole, why cant the guy just run the play called.
I know our offensive line is in not so great shape right now,but I hope the coaches are talking to him.He needs to play smash mouth football.Jackson is big enough and strong enough to be a fullback and I wish he'd run with power at the line of scrimmage.Marshall faulk has the speed and moves to skip around and blast through a hole in the line, but Jackson doesnt.-
