  • Bulger to blame for everything???

Since the Rams have been on the downfall the past couple of years ive seen that the scapegoat since then has been Bulger. IMO a very small amount of it is his fault. I mean when hes got a decent line and a good recieving core, hes a pro bowler and thats a fact.

Another thing thats obvious is the last couple years hes had terrible recieving cores and even worse o-lines. The defense hasnt helped much either. Im just tired of every clueless fan who has no idea about football complaining that its all bulgers fault. I think if you put him on good team in the NFL he would still be a pro bowler. I know hes not good at scrambling but we didnt get him to scramble. We got him to sit in the pocket and make good throws(Which he stills does today when his terrible WR's get open every once in awhile).

Picking up a First Round QB is just plain stupid but most fans seem to think thats exactly what we should do. Its Not. No rookies going to come in and make passes to these mediocre recievers that Bulger cant. Im just wondering if anyone else agrees with me.

Bulger has taken over for Martz for everything wrong with the Rams. There's always someone. You would think Bulger is responsible for:

    1. The unemployment rate
    2. The state of healthcare in the U.S.
    3. Global warming
    4. The fact the Kardashians are still on tv......

Bulger should not receive the amount of blame he receives.

      However...

The Rams need to take a QB of the future in the 2010 draft.

Yeah but not in the first-third rounds i dont think. We need a reciever and some defensive players first. And TX i agree lol

          I didn't read this but...YES!

He even locked my keys in the car the other day. Also, I'm pretty sure that under the new health care laws, I would somehow be paying for his medical expenses.

He also helped write I kissed a girl, I read somewhere.

That's true Av. He deserves some of the blame, he hasn't been as accurate as before his contact and you can't totally blame the lack of talent around him. However, he's still serviceable and if the Rams can draft a QB and WR early next year why not keep him again? He could help transition the QB of the future and maybe kick Avery's tail into gear.

From 2003 to 2008, Marc Bulger was sacked at a rate of between 2.46 and 3 sacks per game. Anyone ever consider that just maybe, it wasn't as much the offensive line needing to be replaced as the QB had a tendency to get sacked?

In college at that time they didn't count sacks the same way. You had a rushing loss for yardage but from what I can tell, Bulger averaged 2.8-3 "sacks" per game for his time at WVU.

Just maybe, instead of it always being the offensive line's fault, it was Marc's all along? Doesn't it seem odd that no matter who is on this offensive line, it's just never good enough to prevent sacks.

Having said that, Marc has historically (even in college) been an extremely accurate QB. Well, until the last 3 years.

I'll add to that, Ben Roethlisberger is the QB with the most sacks in that time period and I think he also has 2 rings to show for it. Whether your getting sacked alot or not you can still make plays if your the leader of your team.

Re: Bulger to blame for everything???

Did you know that Marc Bulger killed Abraham Lincoln and put the blame on John Wilkes Booth instead?

People just made excuses for him when he lost the Vietnam War too.

                  But in seriousness though...

We should still find a new QB, it's just that time where we need to seriously consider a new one. I'm not sure the first round of the draft will hold the answer, but it might. It should certainly be taken in the first three.

I don't know about that. If the Rams don't go with a QB, I'd say a DL would be the top choice for me.

If only he was throwing more TDs, the Rams would be selling more jerseys. Subliminally, if people were seeing Rams colors around, they might feel more inclined to buy the Dodge trucks of the same name. And if Bulger was a true star NFLer, he'd help sell magazines, Rams DVDs, and maybe even inspire a movie like "Heaven Can Wait".

I'm sure he's not driving the costs down with all those shoulder injuries.

Think about all those cars on the road coming from Green Bay, Chicago, and everywhere else because local fans are so willing to sell off their tickets. It'd be a whole other story if we were winning.

I blame Reggie Bush for that.

Ben Roethlisberger also has one of the best defensive units in the league backing him up, and most of his sacks fall into the category of "coverage/why the *bleep* did you not throw the ball away when nobody was open after 6 seconds"

To compare his situation to Bulger's is ludicrous.

That said, Bulger's the reason my IRA is tanking.

I don't think it's ludicrous to "extend" plays to help your team win instead of curliing up in a ball and crying "Mommy" at the first sign of pressure. Thanks for your opinion though!

I have to.... Agree the Kardashians are hot.

What is this post about again? Oh Marc Bulger. Ya lets take a Franchise QB
