  • Ding, ding, ding! A 2nd addition to R.I.'s wall of idiots in two days!

    In no particular order:

    #1 Rodney Harrison

    #2 Jamie Dukes

    #3 Solomon Wilcots

    #4 Heinz Ward

    #5 ........................

Michael Lombardi of the NFL Network!!!!

I cannot even imagine how much these idiots get paid, but to be so uneducated about one of the games top players is inexcusable to me ...

Steve Wyche (whom I know love) was trying to make a legitimate argument for our Steven Jackson being the MVP of the league. The yahoo host, whom I cannot remember who it is, thought this was one of the most asinine things he had ever heard, only to be followed by Lombardi issuing the following statement in regards to Jackson's performance ...

"Yea, and the bulk majority of his yardage comes late in the game when the score doesn't matter."

The only way this statement would be true is if we were AHEAD!

Are you kidding me? I don't even think he's smart enough to realize how dumb that comment is ...

Yes, when we are down several touchdowns in the 4th, we are just handing to ball to Jackson to get some yards ....

    Seriously? Are you kidding?

What an uneducated bafoon. Jackson has been a terror to just about every opponent he has faced, for just about every second he has been out there.

At one time I thought this guy was a decent reporter, but it only takes one act of staggering ignorance to change an opinion.

I'm really glad I wasn't the only one to notice this. I just about fell out of my chair when he said that.

Lombardi used to be head of the personell departments of the Browns & Raiders..need i say anymore?

Jax aint gonna be MVP..it gotta be Brees or Manning really..perhaps Johnson and Benson could get into the mix...but Jax should get the award for player who has done the most with the littlest help..but i dont believe that award exists.
however that is not really the point..Lombardi just rubbished Jacksons achievements with nothing of real substance to back it up...just like most of his reports really.

It was extremely funny when Steve Wyche responded by saying "I'd like to see you tell that to his face" ...

LOL how about this idiot do some research it took me all of 10 minutes. 76, want to know what that number is? That number is the amount of yds Jackson has gained in the 4th qtr of games the Rams have been blown out. The Rams have only been blown out in five games. So Jackson has ran for 76 garbage yds and this guy says he gets all his yds in garbage time? How can some of these guys call themselves reporters and all they really are is blowhards who dont know anything.

I know this isn't the internet "way" but if you are going to call people idiots, you might want to avoid spelling errors.

One, making a speleing errer does not make one an idiot. Maybe they are careless, or just don't acre. No one paes me to spiel coractly ...

Second, making uneducated and bogus statements and analysis such as Lombardi did/does, could classify one as an idiot, especially when they are getting paid for what they do ...

Nice DD Rammiser, rep to you ...

Traditionally, teams throw more while down in the fourth quarter, to you know, score.

And when in a game do points not matter? That's the really confusing part to me.

Certainly agree with you, Infiniti, on this one. It is a shame when a very good player on a poor team gets overlooked; it's a flat disgrace when someone completely dismisses the guy without knowing the facts.

Jackson hasn't done a good job, he's done a GREAT job- considering the sub par passing game with musical receivers and a line that has had its struggles. While he won't win the award, he certainly should be in the conversation.

Just shows you one need not be intelligent to get a TV analyst job.

They should really make divide these awards.

MVP RB Nominations=Steven Jackson, Chris Johnson, Jones-Drew, Benson, etc.
MVP QB Nominations=Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Mark Sanchez (Just Kidding!)

I know this could wind up being for everyone damn position, but at least it's a little more fair. A QB can carry an offense (no pun intended) a lot more than a RB (usually the case) simply because the QB is the leader of the team so naturally, selecting a stud QB as opposed to a stud RB, there's more than likely going to be so biased opinion there.

dont know if you or others saw it earlier in the season but just after we played the Skins ..NFL network showed footage of Jim Zorn during the game as he was mic`d up.
on one of the little clips it showed Zorn squealing to one of the Zebra`s something like "i want you to make sure they dont have 12 ..." he looks up and didnt finish what he was gonna say as Jax walks up to see what was going down.....Zorn then after a second or so of silence.. went to Jax and said.."hi Steven..you`re awesome"...

All I know is that Jackson has been a revelation this season.

Not just because of his on-field performance but for his leadership of the franchise as a whole and his refusal to become part of the problem.

MVP's go to performers on winning teams for obvious reasons but for me Jackson would be a serious MVP candidate precisely because of what he's done when we've up against it all season.

He's refused to feel sorry for himself or the team, he's turned up to work everday and dished out a battering to virtually every team he's been faced despte them all knowing he's going to get the ball 25 times a game.

Garbage time? We've never had any garbage time the closest we get to it is listening to people like Lombardi.

Someone needs to beat that Lombardi guy up. Preferably Steven Jackson.
