  • Top 10 Rams of All Time

Last week I went to the chargers game and they were announcing the top 50 greatest chargers of all time.

Since 50 players is kinda long to list in a thread, i was seeing who everyone would put in their top 10 Rams. Lets see if all the fans are on the same page and can identify the 10 greatest rams.

Thanks Hill, excellent idea / good material for these days of famine and despair. :ram:

For now, it'll be hard for me to dispute AV's list of 12. I agree pretty much with each one of those names he listed. If we go to 50, then, of course, we'll be able to spread the nominees in a positive Top Rams of All Time debate. ...I may try that later.

That is a tough list to compete with, would you also consider having Dick "night train" Lane on the team?

Solid list, if the list were expanded, I would add:

          Roman Gabriel
          Jack Reynolds
          Larry Brooks
          Dennis Harrah
          Nolan Cromwell
          Jack Snow
          Tom Mack
          Henry Ellard
Kevin Greene (he was a Ram first)

          to name a few.

            Can you consider Kurt Warner?

He won the Rams a Super Bowl and is a sure fire HOF ?

Did he not do enough here? (wondering?)

Re: Top 10 Rams of All Time

Night Train's time with the Rams was very short (2 or 3 seasons, I believe).

Warner would definitely be in the top 20-25.

Unfortunately I can't go back past the eighties and have any real knowledge here, so I won't bother assembling a list...but I find it surprising that not a one of you has listed either Torry or Orlando, who are both likely HOFers (Orlando assuredly, Torry probably).

Great lists... but what two are you going to knock off when Jackson and JL retire as Rams? ;)

                          Top 10 gutsiest performances
                          by NJ Ramsfan1
Got home this evening and flipped on the NFL Network. They have a show on in which a top ten list is recognized (top 10 all-time teams, top 10 team nicknames, top 10 single game performances, etc.) This evening's show was on the top ten all-time gutsiest performances. Number one was Jack Youngblood playing throughout the '79-'80 playoffs and SuperBowl on a broken leg.

There was some great footage throughout the 7-8 minute segment, including commentary from guys like Eric Dickerson, Pat Haden and numerous others praising Youngblood's grit and determination. Youngblood himself talked of playing thru pain out of an obligation to his teammates and to set an example as captain.

Not only did he play on the broken leg for 2 1/2 games, but also kept his commitment and played in the following Sunday's pro bowl. Unbelievable. Though the story is now legendary, this show had me fired up and made my evening.

They don't make them like him anymore. Jack Youngblood: A MAN among men.

With 90 revealed, the Rams have the 2nd most with 7, after the Cowboys 8. It will be interesting to see who is left. We know the top 10 will include:
                          Jerry Rice
                          Joe Montana
                          Walter Payton
                          Peyton Manning
                          Lawrence Taylor
                          Reggie White
                          Jim Brown

                          Others?
                          Maybe Johnny U. ?
                          Chris Carter?
                          Randy Moss?
Isaac Bruce? I know, I'm dreaming.
                          Marcus Allen?
                          Jack Youngblood?
