I don't know if anyone caught the pregame stuff before tonights game between the Whiners and Cardinals? I didn't catch the whole ****RUMOR***
but there was some talk about Michael Vick playing for our RAMS next season. Something to do with Devaney.
I posted two weeks ago about Billy Devaney being one of my brother's girlfriends relatives. And she told me Devaney visited Vick in prison. Well well well, Chris Mortenson reported that a possible Vick to the Rams due to this. No one believed me and the thread was even deleted. I hope you guys will believe me now because I can actually get inside information on this forum. Although i anticipate this thread being deleted like all my others.
Presumably somebody at ESPN remembered that Devaney previously worked for the Falcons and decided that this is reason enough to bring him in.
Why we would be so stupid as to acquire a wildcat back when we lack a long term regular back is utterly beyond me, but I guess that is why I don't work for ESPN.

I'll also point out this is Mortenson reporting it and not somebody reliable like Schefter.
If they feel he still has the ability to play QB at a high level and has changed his attitude (which he seems to have done), I don't see the harm in bringing him in. I wouldn't let that alter my draft plans one bit. I'd still draft a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round. But he might be wind up being a gem. He can still throw, and he's getting adjusted to the speed of the game again. I wouldn't mind seeing this happen at all. I'm not saying there's any merit to the rumor but I'm simply stating that this wouldn't be such a bad thing. I guarantee you he'd be a whole hell of a lot better than Boller or Null and maybe even a banged up and seemingly psychologically scarred Marc Bulger

I'm with ya Varg, it wouldn't be such a bad thing IMO. He would bring something new to the offense, a different wrinkle. Hell at this point I wouldn't care if Tony Banks came back if gave this team a shot at winning.
I dont think he has an attitude problem, he's a relatively good guy imo.
The problem is he isnt a good QB, and even if he was, what is he 30? Purely a stop gap at this point.

Age has nothing to do with playing quarterback. Warner and Favre are examples. Not saying Vick is in the same field as those two, but it still doesn't hurt to bring him in. In my opinion, it could give us something like the Titans have going on with Young and Johnson.

I have to agree with this. You still bring in a guy in the draft, but you give Vick a shot.
Mort talked about how Devaney was the only person to visit him in jail. Verry interesting to say the least. I really doubt Devaney has zero connection or zero interest in Vick. I think there is a decent chance. In a capped year it way more than a decent chance because the pool would be severely limited and he could be one of the best options.
Honestly before the season started I would have said no way.
However he has looked good on the field and more importantly he has caused zero disruption for the team.
I would definitly give him a shot but I have a feeling a lot of other quarterback hungry teams may be in the market as well which good drive the price too high.
I think Vick could add another dimension to our team. I mean sure you can't compare Vick to guys like Manning or Brady, but compare him to Bulger Boller and Null and he looks pretty good. He could add a ton of speed to our game and from what I see he is looking pretty accurate. Maybe not our franchise guy, but would allow us to use the 1st or 2nd draft pick to address bigger needs and hopefully have a good qb left in the second round. What can we offer to the Eagles?

Hey guys im a Falcons fan and you guys are really lucky if you get Vick. Alot of people think he wasnt accurate according to stat Sheets but his recievers dropped alot of passes especially Roddy white because he was a rookie when he played with Vick. Another thing, proof that roddy was horrible. Do you guys remember the incedent when they said Vick gave the finger to us? It wasnt true at all, he was actually giving the finger to some saints fans yelling racial slurs at roddy white an tellig him he scked. I was actually at that game and the things they were yelling at Roddy wasnt nice at all, thats when Vick gave them the finger. To be honest Vick never had a true no 1 reciever, our tight end lead our team in receptions. Vick is actually a great player. He is 2-2 in the playoffs and a 3 time pro bowler. You're hearing this from a Falcon fan now. Good luck on the rest of yall season. When he came back to the dome lasy week we were " chanting we want Vick. It was so loud!
what happened to everyone before the season began and before he was signed saying theyd never take him no matter what? i still wouldnt take him. hes a horrible quarterback whos one play away from becoming a gimmick. just because we are having a horrible season and vick looks OK as a back up doesnt make me want to change my mind about having him here. did we change it to 3 pillars instead of 4?
I just thinks hes not a good qb, and getting him and surrounding him with less talent isnt gonna make him any better. Yes, he has appeared to of changed from his old ways, and isnt creating any controversy and is making good oppurtunity of his 2nd chance, but im staying with my conviction, I dont want to see Vick in a rams uniform ever. I highly dought devaney will try to pick him up, just my opinion of course.

Your post was deleted because the Clan is not in the business of being a rumor mill for things that come from someone's brother's wife's uncle's roommate's etc etc, simply because there's absolutely no way to verify those kinds of claims and anyone can simply make it up. We've been doing this for a while now; it has nothing to do with you but rather the inability to authenticate those rumors and our desire to not see the board flooded with unsourced information that may or may not be true.
If you have additional questions regarding this matter, please PM me or another mod. That way, this thread can stay on topic.

Has anyone given a detailed recount of what exactly was said? If this speculation is based on what Bernie wrote, here's the only statement I can find, which is from Peter King's Monday Morning Quarterback column...
e. Interesting tidbit from respected St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist Bernie Miklasz: "I would not be surprised, at all, to see the Rams make a play for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick after the season.'' I agree.
That quote makes it sound like it's just Bernie's hunch rather than any new or inside information into the thought process of the front office.
That being said, I would prefer the Rams look at other options than Michael Vick. Regardless of his off the field issues, resolved or not, I simply don't think he's a very good quarterback, nor do I think he'd be a good fit for this offensive scheme or this football team.
