Glad to hear about this tribute, Merlin and Roman Gabriel were my two earliest favorites.

Defensive lineman Merlin Olsen, a 14-time Pro Bowler and a member of the Los Angeles Rams’ “Fearsome Foursome” during his 15 years in the NFL, will be honored Sunday at the Edward Jones Dome. At the end of halftime of the St. Louis Rams-Houston Texans game, a video highlighting Olsen’s Hall of Fame career will be shown.
Olsen, who is battling cancer and unable to attend, will be represented by his son Nathan.
“Merlin is one of the greatest players in the history of the NFL and more importantly one of the greatest people in twentieth century sports,” Rams owner Chip Rosenbloom said in a statement. “The entire Rams organization wishes that Merlin could be with us on Sunday, but we look forward to welcoming his family and teammates as we celebrate a wonderful human being and his many accomplishments both on and off the field.”
Merlin’s brother, Phil Olsen, a lineman who played with the Rams from 1971-74, and former Rams guard Tom Mack, a Hall of Famer and teammate of both Olsens, will be in attendance. They will sign autographs at the Rams Club before the game and will be recognized on the field at the end of the first quarter. They also will join Nathan Olsen for the halftime presentation.Tags: None
