  • Good News: Rams Will Have Easier Schedule in 2010

    Hot off the presses!

The 2010 opponents are set for St. Louis Rams

    By Jim Thomas
    St. Louis Post-Dispatch

With two games left to play in 2009, the St. Louis Rams already know their opponents in 2010. Under the NFL’s rotating schedule formula, they are scheduled to play the NFC South and AFC West.
Only two games on the schedule are decided based on the Rams’ finish in the NFC West _ and even those opponents already are decided. The Rams have “clinched” fourth place in the West, and so have Washington in the NFC East and Detroit in the NFC North.
So here’s the schedule. Dates and times won’t be determined until the spring:
    HOME
Arizona, San Francisco, Seattle, Atlanta, Carolina, Kansas City, San Diego, Washington.
    AWAY
Arizona, San Francisco, Seattle, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Denver, Oakland, Detroit.

Of the 10 non-divisional games, it looks like the Rams will have 6 against sub-.500 teams, and only two against 2009 division winners (New Orleans, San Diego).

Plus... GOOD NEWS FOR ME... A road game in Tampa (only 2 hours from my house)

    Date: TBA
    Gametime: TBA
After the game: Lee Roy Selmon's restaurant!

I like the looks of this schedule. There are a lot of games that can go either way for us, so there's definitely hope for next year.

This is a great schedule for what the Rams need.

With the right moves in FA and a good draft we could possibly get at least 8 wins next year.

That would be good progress for a 2nd year rebuild.

            Thanks Santa.

"at least 8 wins" hitting that egg nog pretty hard today ? hope your right but remember those so called bad teams might be better also,we expect the Rams to get better so I am sure the other teams will try and do the same, therefore I suggest the one game at a time approach.

I was just sober enough to use the word "possibly" but later tonight I will be proclaiming them Super Bowl winners for next year while dancing on a coffee table wearing nothing but a Santa hat.

This is a favorable schedule. I might actually fly out to Michigan and see that Detroit game, I know a few people down there so that'd be fun.

The closest game is 10-12 hours, in Tampa. At least I will get one or two games on TV. The Carolina game will be on TV, and the SD game may be on my West Coast satallite feed.

                          Sweet.

But we need some talent to win games. With this team right now, we wouldn't stand a chance against any of them. We are really bad!

But here is to a good offseason!

You never know in the NFL. Who knows this could be the hardest schedule in the NFL, so i'll just hold my judgment for now.

With the exception of the road game at the saints, i think we can win them all.
