to recover from his back injury. This isnt surprising really, he was clearly struggling late in the season. He has been replaced by Frank Gore

Re: Steven Jackson is sitting out the Pro Bowl
Smart move. Just shows that he's committed to this team. There's no need to show off in the pro bowl and potentially hurt himself even more. I know it's an honorary thing for these guys to make the pro bowl and SJax deserves it but he's doing the right thing here. Good for you Steven.Always and Forever a fan of the St. Louis Rams

Re: Steven Jackson is sitting out the Pro Bowl
Why the NFL continues to even have a game is beyond me. Elect the players to the "team" and be done with it. Why would any reasonable player risk his career over an exhibition game? Too much money at stake these days. It sucks, but that's the way it is.

You're right RFRH, why they play this laughable "All-Star" games is a mystery. Elect the players and be done with it is right.
Good move by Jackson to avoid it. The list of players doing the same is growing by the hour.

Re: Steven Jackson is sitting out the Pro Bowl
For me, this just shows, and adds, to how much of a character change and leadership role he has taken upon himself throughout the season. Although he was injured, if it wasn't too serious, any other player would have gone to the pro bowl, enjoyed a nice day at the beach, while getting paid for a laid back football game, because he wouldn't need to take many reps. Steven took the smart route and began his healing process early, looking forward for next season, and I couldn't have asked for anything else.

With the scheduling & now that the cheapskate billion-dollar NFL isn't even sending them to Hawaii, I think you'll see a lot more no-shows, thus making an already pretty silly event even more blah.

Re: Steven Jackson is sitting out the Pro Bowl
These are some of the players sitting out, that I have seen myself:
Tom Brady
Philip Rivers
Steven Jackson
Andre Gurode
Ben Roethlisberger
Larry Fitzgerald
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
Plus many more, I'm sure. I doubt many of the players who lose this weekend will want to come out and play in the pro bowl, and neither will any of the players who win.
Vince Young is now on the squad because of drop outs. Vince Young.

Re: Steven Jackson is sitting out the Pro Bowl
Just so you know, if a team reaches the Superbowl, none of its players will play in the Pro Bowl. So say the Vikings get in, all the players they have in the Pro Bowl will have to pull out.
This, along with the many injury drop outs, means that the Pro Bowl rosters will be a joke.
However, now that Andre Gurode is out with injury, and has been replaced by Jonathan Sullivan of the Saints, if the Saints get to the Superbowl i believe our very Jason Brown is next in line to play Center for the NFC Pro Bowl Team@EssexRam_

by RampingitupAccording to NFL.com SJ made the Pro Bowl, though not as the starter. And no big surprise he is the only Ram on the roster.

And here she is
Aloha Christa!
Next year Chris Long will make the pro bowl. I don't care if I have to sit here and do nothing but vote for Chris Long I will. He deserved it this year and will get it next year deserving or not.
There were others that had a good enough year also, James Laur and Jackson (he was injured and still got over the 1k) both could have made it on their efforts....-

by tomahawk247If Marc Bulger and Steven Jackson dont go to the pro bowl then its officially a joke. Yes Brees will be the starter at QB for the NFC, but Bulger should be the second guy on everyones ballot. And i can only think of Frank Gore in the NFC that is anywhere near Jackson right now.
Torry Holt is going to need a good end to the season to get there, but his early season form could give him some of the vote. But its unlikely.
Leonard Little could get there. He is up there in the sack race. But i feel Little's past could work against him, especially with the public vote.
Pace would have probably got there on name alone if he wasnt injured, but even then he probably shouldnt have.
Jeff Wilkins has currently made the most field goals in the NFL. However with the way Robbi Gould has been kicking i cant see Jeff getting into the pro bowl.
What do you think clanram?-
