  • My wife doesn't respect my past

I know this is a bit off topic, but you guys are my friends, so I thought I'd share with you some problems I'm having.

You see, I think my wife is paranoid about my past. I used to have photos all over my office of my ex-girlfriends (you know... the three girls who went out with me twice before I met my wife). Now, my wife has taken them down and wants to put up "family" photos. What the heck is that? I have fond memories of my life before my wife, and she just won't accept that.

Then, it got worse. I spoke to two of my ex-girlfriends, and they offered to talk to my wife to "coach" her on how to best deal with me. What did she do? She refused! You'd think she'd want to learn from the successes of the past, but nooooo! She's too insecure for that.

You know, she also mentioned that she respects Michael Vick. I wonder what that means? Oh, my God! She's going to leave me for Michael Vick!

I need to go lie down.

Hang in there bro. Women are sometimes extremely hard to understand but I find that most of the time the problems they cause is because they are insecure about something. Find the problem by talking to her and just reassure her on the topic. After a while it should get better. If it doesnt, then I dont know what to tell you.

That seems to work for me.

PS Another alternative is getting pissed off of her and showing how rediculous she is, that seems to work as well. Either way GOOD LUCK youll need it.

lol No BernieM is the ClanRam version of Bernie the writer. I believe its one of Avenger's multiple user names (could be wrong on the last part). Its all a joke. He was equating the story of Spags taking down the pictures of individual Rams players in one section of the park to the anecdotal story of Bernie's wife and ex-girlfriends (while also mocking Bernie).

Don't feel bad. If you missed some of the back story it would be easy to get confused.

            Multiple user names?

Bernie I think you really need to have a sit down with Devaney and Spags. A small intervention of sorts. Seems they've created the same issues.

Don't worry your girlfriend will eventually let this issue go away as soon as she can make up something else you have done wrong.

Your "performance" on the other hand is a different matter. She has been giving you a lot of free passes this last year but insists you better start "performing" better or she will replace you.

                Good Luck.

I am shocked to hear two things.

Firstly, that there are three women in the world who were desperate enough to go on a second date with BernieM before his mail order bride arrived.

Secondly, that BernieM isn't always lying down. I usually picture him supine & slimy, dribbling these articles out of the corner of his mouth...like Jabba The Hutt.

Just to scare you even more: he's been married 2x. If this caused you true emotional distress, please accept my apology. Do you think he ate the first bride?

A Week At The Gym: One Man's Story
                        by ramsanddodgers
This is dedicated to everyone who ever attempted to get into a regular
                        workout routine.

                        Dear Diary.

For my sixty fifth birthday this year, my wife (the dear) purchased a week
of personal training at the local health club for me. Although I am still
in great shape since playing on my college tennis team 45 years ago, I
decided it would be a good idea to go ahead and give it a try.

I called the club and made my reservations with a personal trainer named
Belinda, who identified herself as a 26-year-old aerobics instructor and
model for athletic clothing and swim wear. My wife seemed pleased with my
                        enthusiasm to get started!
The club encouraged me to keep a diary to chart my progress

                        MONDAY
Started my day at 6:00 a.m. Tough to get out of bed, but found it was well
worth it when I arrived at the health club to find Belinda waiting for me.
She is something of a Greek goddess - with blond hair, dancing eyes and a
dazzling white smile. Woo Hoo!! Belinda gave me a tour and showed me the
machines. She took my pulse after five minutes on the treadmill. She was
alarmed that my pulse was so fast, but I attribute it to standing next to
her in her Lycra aerobic outfit. I enjoyed watching the skillful way in
which she conducted her aerobics class after my workout today. Very
                        inspiring!
Belinda was encouraging as I did my sit-ups, all though my gut was already
aching from holding it in the whole time she was around. This is going to
                        be a FANTASTIC week-!!

                        TUESDAY
I drank a whole pot of coffee, but I finally made it out the door. Belinda
made me lie on my back and push a heavy iron bar into the air -- then she
put weights on it! My legs were a little wobbly on the treadmill, but I
made the full mile. Belinda's rewarding smile made it all worthwhile. I
feel GREAT!! It's a whole new life for me.

                        WEDNESDAY
The only way I can brush my teeth is by laying on the toothbrush on the
counter and moving my mouth back and forth over it. I believe I have a
hernia in both pectorals. Driving was OK as long as I didn't try to steer
or stop. I parked on top of a GEO in the club parking lot. Belinda was
impatient with me, insisting that my screams bothered other club members.
Her voice is a little too perky for early in the morning and when she
scolds, She gets this nasally whine that is VERY annoying. My chest hurt
when I got on the treadmill, so Belinda put me on the stair monster. Why
the hell would anyone invent a machine to simulate an activity rendered
obsolete by elevators? Belinda told me it would help me get in shape and
enjoy life. She said some other crap too.

                        Laughter is the best medicine...
                        by ramsanddodgers
I was a very happy man. My wonderful girlfriend and I had
been dating for over a year, and so we decided to get married. There was
only one little thing bothering me...It was her beautiful younger sister.

My prospective sister-in-law was twenty-two, wore very tight
miniskirts, and generally was bra-less. She would regularly bend down when she was
near me, and I always got more than a nice view. It had to be deliberate.
Because she never did it when she was near anyone else.

One day her "little" sister called and asked me to come over to check
the wedding invitations. She was alone when I arrived, and she whispered
to me that she had feelings and desires for me that she couldn't overcome.
She told me that she wanted me just once before I got married and
committed my life to her sister.

Well, I was in total shock, and couldn't say a word.
She said, "I'm going upstairs to my bedroom, and if you want one last wild fling, just come up and get me."
I was stunned and frozen in shock as I watched her go up the stairs.

I stood there for a moment, then turned and made a beeline straight to the
front door. I opened the door, and headed straight towards my car.

Lo and behold, my entire future family was standing outside, all
clapping! With tears in his eyes, my father-in-law hugged me and said, "We are
very happy that you have passed our little test. We couldn't ask for a
better man for our daughter. Welcome to the family."

And the moral of this story is: Always keep your condoms in your car.

Figured I would start an on-going thread just for jokes and humor.

                        ***********************************************************
                        Chili Cook-off:

Recently I was honored to be selected as an Outstanding Famous Celebrity in my Community to be a judge at a chili cook-off because no one else wanted to do it. Also the original person called in sick at the last moment and I happened to be standing there at the judge's table asking directions to the beer wagon when the call came.

I was assured by the other two judges that the chili wouldn't be all that spicy, and besides they told me I could have free beer during the tasting, so I accepted this as being one of those burdens you endure when you're an Internet writer and therefore known and adored by all.

Here are the scorecards from the event:

Chili # 1: Mike's Maniac Mobster Monster Chili

JUDGE ONE: A little too heavy on tomato. Amusing kick.
JUDGE TWO: Nice, smooth tomato flavor. Very mild.
CAMERON: Holy smokes, what is this stuff? You could remove dried paint from your driveway with it. Took me two beers to put the flames out. Hope that's the worst one. These people are crazy.

                        Chili # 2: Arthur's Afterburner Chili

JUDGE ONE: Smoky (barbecue?) with a hint of pork. Slight Jalapeno tang.
JUDGE TWO: Exciting BBQ flavor, needs more peppers to be taken seriously.
CAMERON: Keep this out of reach of children! I'm not sure what I am supposed to taste besides pain. I had to wave off two people who wanted to give me the Heimlich maneuver. Shoved my way to the front of the beer line. The barmaid looks like a professional wrestler after a bad night. She was so irritated over my gagging sounds that the snake tattoo under her eye started to twitch. She has arms like Popeye and a face like Winston Churchill. I will NOT pick a fight with her.

Chili # 3: Fred's Famous Burn Down the Barn Chili

JUDGE ONE: Excellent firehouse chili! Great kick. Needs more beans.
JUDGE TWO: A beanless chili, a bit salty, good use of red peppers.
CAMERON: This has got to be a joke. Call the EPA, I've located a uranium spill. My nose feels like I have been sneezing Drano. Everyone knows the routine by now and got out of my way so I could make it to the beer wagon. Barmaid pounded me on the back; now my backbone is in the front part of my chest. She said her friends call her "Sally." Probably behind her back they call her "Forklift."

                        Chili # 4: Bubba's Black Magic

JUDGE ONE: Black bean chili with almost no spice. Disappointing.
JUDGE TWO: A hint of lime in the black beans. Good side dish for fish or other mild foods, not much of a chili.
CAMERON: I felt something scraping across my tongue but was unable to taste it. Sally was standing behind me with fresh refills so I...
