Rams give S Dahl three year deal

Rams re-signed S Craig Dahl to a three-year contract.
Dahl, who turns 25 in June, finished 2009 with an impressive 64 tackles, two sacks, and two fumble recoveries off the bench. He's shown a nose for the football and could settle in as the Rams' third safety of the future.

this all means the OJ's out,,,,which i knew was gunna happen, ya hes good at pickin the ball of but his coverage sucks....ye u can say theirs no push up front to him the DB's time ,,, but he sucks against the run and isnt as aggressive as spags would like him to be i assume.....Dahl is a pretty good tackler and read and react kinda guy

Not necessarily. There has been no indication that the Rams are changing their stance of working out a long term deal with Atogwe. I haven't even seen anything from any other team regarding interest in him. Until I see otherwise, I have to disagree with you.

I think it's a great move. Dahl has been a strong contributer and a sure tackler. I don't see this as having anything to do with Atogwe.

This doesn't mean anything CLOSE to OJ being out. Dahl is the THIRD safety. This is just the team keeping hold of good, young, promising talent for probably much less than a premium. If the front office does not lock up OJ long term, this signing has nothing to do with it.

Nothing to do with OJ, Dahl is more of a SS type. Even if we were replacing OJ with Dahl the coverage ability of OJ would have nothing to do with it, Dahl is great in run support but lacking in coverage. Remeber the saints game were Bush ran all the way across the field, Dahl had a great angle on him and still couldnt catch him.

Ditto. What I love is that the kid can play FS or SS. IMO he was one of the major finds in the youth movement.

Great young player coming at a cheap price. Maybe he can develop into our #1 someday? I still would love to see the team bring OJ back. He's a BALLHAWK!

It is good to have a situation player and Dahl fits the build;). Spags likely has a plan in mind if nothing else for keeping depth.
