Once in a while I feel sad and discouraged about my Rams -- enter the first six games of the 2007 season.
Here at the Clan one often finds solace and space to share these feelings with fellow warriors in time of relfection and song as I sense tonight in the NFL side of my soul.
Poetry in battle, the cry for victory, the cry of defeat ... that agony of defeat.
One of my favorite songs that I cherish outside* of my country's cultural folklore and art* among many that come to me now and then from within today's globalized air of communication, knowledge, and talent is this one (7+ min. version):

If you can, please take the volume up, up, while you listen and think...
"--Hey now, hey now, I'm Rams Fan ever!" :r
There is freedom within, there is freedom without,
try to catch the deluge in a paper cup.
There's a battle ahead, many battles are lost,
but you'll never see the end of the road
while youre travelling with me.
Hey now, hey now,
don't dream it's over.
Hey now, hey now,
when the world comes in.
They come, they come,
to build a wall between us...
we know they won't win.
Now I'm towing my car, there's a hole in the roof,
my possessions are causing me suspicion but there's no proof.
In the paper today tales of war and of waste,
but you turn right over to the T.V. page.
Hey now, hey now,
don't dream it's over.
Hey now, hey now,
when the world comes in.
They come, they come,
to build a wall between us...
we know they won't win.
Now I'm walking again to the beat of a drum,
and I'm counting the steps to the door of your heart.
Only shadows ahead, barely clearing the roof,
get to know the feeling of liberation and relief.
Hey now, hey now,
don't dream it's over.
Hey now, hey now,
when the world comes in.
They come, they come...
to build a wall between us.
Don't ever let them win.

I really like this live, mellow version of
'Don't Dream It's Over' by Crowded House, played in Sydney, ca. 1996. [Sadly, so sadly, two years ago drummer Paul Hester committed suicide in an Australian Park. ...Depression simply got the best of him (and of these lyrics).]
"
Hey now, hey now,
don't dream it's over.
Hey now, hey now,
when the world comes in.
They come, they come...
to build a wall between us.
We know the Rams will win."...
