  • Rams sign Dockery and Johnson

Rams signed TE Darcy Johnson, formerly of the Giants.
Johnson, 27, has just nine career catches in four seasons. The Rams are scary-thin at tight end, however, so he has a decent shot to make the team.

Rams signed CB Kevin Dockery, formerly of the Giants.
Dockery, 26, is undersized at 5'8/188 and coming off an awful season. When on his game, he is a feisty nickel back and knows the Rams' scheme, having played for Steve Spagnuolo in New York. He'll be a fair bet to make the club.

Good depth I suppose. Haven't really ever heard anything about Darcy Johnson.

Dockery i expect to be on the 53 man roster..and pleased with the signing.. only 26 and probably the best Nickle back we got now.

      Johnson..compete for a spot..but probably 3rd or 4th option at best once we`ve drafted a TE...which i`m sure we will.

          or alternatively..
More Super bowl winning back ups to be back ups for last seasons worst team...who happens to be coached by the coach who led them to the best years of their careers.

Would rather have Dockery playing than some of the DB's we have now....

As for Johnson, he's strictly depth. I don't see him on the roster next year.

I swear I've seen Dockett listed at 5'10 other places. Either way, he'll make a fine nickle back or at least fight it out with King I suppose.

Dockett is about 6'3 and a DT...

first named that popped in my head reading that title was Darnell Dockett. IN which spittle flew from my mouth and I hastily clicked the thread title only to be disappointed.

Don't know much about Johnson but Im sure the Rams did their homework on him and I know they know much more about him then I do. Dockery looks to be a good signing.

I don't care what team a guy comes from as long as he can fill the role needed and play ball *cough* Peoria...

I actually like what we have done with this FA structure. The younger starters that we want haven't been available, so we have filled up most of our depth issues with capable vets. If you look at it where else could we use some depth RB and LB come to mind for me. We could still possibly address that with guys like Na'il Diggs and Willie Parker. I think we have really opened up what we could do in the draft allowing us to draft young starters.

Gosh, I sure hope that Dockery makes the team. Can't wait to say Kevin "Hickory, Dickory Dockery. The cat ran up the"....well, I can't remember the rest of it right now.

Anyway, once again, good signing, great depth.

                      WHAT SAY YE?

Well, these two player additions seem to be alright. :ram:

I'm usually wary of small CBs but I suppose that the mere fact they've made it to the NFL (this would be his 5th year) leaves room for hope. Maybe if KD starts eating a junkier diet and begins sleeping at night hanging from his feet, he'll grow into a 6 footer, 200 DB by the 1st regular season game. Seriously though, this may be an upgrade from Tye Hill.

anyone who can return an INT for a 96 yard TD against the Cowboys is welcome at my club..

as nickle backs go..he`s not too much undersize..we`ve certainly missed "little" Corey Ivy..i hope Dockery can fill that hole the way i think he can.

Amen Ramblin'. Ivy fits in well with the Ravens' scheme so let's hope Dockery will have the same sort of effect being back with Spags.
