Perhaps cutting him now would allow another team with QB questions to sign him pre-draft, thereby altering the draft landscape? Not sure if that would do US any good, but...

They decided to end the charade of "maybe we don't want Bradford" with Washington ceasing to be a viable trading partner.

The only one that really fits is that they knew a long time ago that they were going to cut Marc, but by cutting him now instead of before the draft they give him a chance to find another team

If that wasnt the reason, then they would have kept him on the roster until after the draft i feel.

I can't rule out the possibility that they'll need the money to pay McNabb's salary. The Rams want a DT in the first round. Suh or McCoy might be the missing piece of a young run stuffing, pocket crashing defense. When was the last time the Rams had that? Shanahan wants Bradford to be his guy, the new face of the Skins. The Rams will draft on top of every round. That's five high picks among the first 120 or 130 players. They could find a receiver or two, some help for the offensive line, a ball hawking CB or maybe even trade up to get Claussen or Tebow. Who's to say that Bradford will make the best pro QB of those available? I'm not a great student of horse flesh, but I seem to recall that all of them are more comfortable a few yards behind the line than in a pro set? And do the Rams really want to lose out on Suh or McCoy and take a chance on a guy who might be a little bit brittle?

I seriously doubt it but maybe...

With Washington getting out of the 1st round hunt for a qb maybe they think putting Bulger out there could get someone else out of the hunt. Maybe Seattle.

The more teams out of the hunt the more chance a Colt McCoy is available at the top of the second.

We would be able to get Suh and a qb of the future in McCoy.

If this is true it could be good long term but leaves me a little worried about who is starting this year.

I think its very likely that we'll sign Bradford and they also feel confident enough with A.J. Feeley to (more than likely) start the beginning of the year and also mentor Bradford; he'll help Bradford with the WCO.

If you know you aren't bringing him back, why keep him on the roster? As soon as they saw Bradford was healthy, there wasn't a reason to keep him on the roster any longer.

But Bradford's Pro Day was last week. Does this front office have that much of a response lag time to stimuli?

Chris Mortenson seems to think that the Rams were holding on to Bulger in case they traded down with the Redskins. Not sure I agree with that. Even if the Rams traded down, I still think they'd have taken a QB (Clausen, C.McCoy in Round 2)

I went with other several options you have listed could all be factored in
IMO MONEY would also play a big part
