    Rams land Na'il Diggs

A day after bidding farewell to a veteran quarterback, the St. Louis Rams have agreed to terms with a veteran linebacker.

According to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Rams have struck a deal with Na'il Diggs. A contract is expected to be signed on Wednesday.

Diggs, who like former Rams quarterback Marc Bulger entered the league in 2000, spent four years with the Panthers and six seasons before that with the Packers. In 2009, he appeared in 14 games, starting 11.

Agreed. Now the Rams have (arguably) the hardest NAME in the league.

low risk high reward situation here, nothing not to like. He comes at a relatively low cost and could prove effective, or not.

I really like this signing. Finally we have signed someone who most would look at as a big name player, because all of our other signings you cant say that ( Feeley, Robbins, etc. ) He isnt a Ray Lewis, but he is definitely going to improve the team. Everytime a signing like this occurs, I feel the competitive ability starting to come back to the team and be in the hunt once again. Not saying we are ALL set to go, but DEFINITELY a HUGE step in the right direction, not just a step.

Honestly, If I drafted bradford, you guys would hate me for this, but I would go with either Gresham or Matthews in the second , because I want us to put up points again. And the only other FA signing ( other than resigning our already first right refused Atogwe) I would make is a big name WR or DT.

              ST. LOUIS --
The St. Louis Rams signed guard Roy Schuening, a fifth-round pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, to a three-year contract on Wednesday.

Financial details of the contact weren't disclosed.

Schuening is the first of the Rams' eight selections in the 2008 NFL Draft to reach a contract agreement.

The 6-foot-3, 320-pound Schuening started 50 consecutive games at Oregon State, breaking the school record of 48 straight starts by linebacker Richard Seigler (2000-03).
