  • In Case You Were Wondering, Rams Draft Picks:

Unless a trade takes place, the Rams will draft in the following positions:

The Rams have 10 choices this year, including the first overall pick and the second to last selection. That final selection was a compensatory pick awarded to the team at the owner's meetings as one of the final two given to even the number of compensatory picks to 32.

First round - Pick 1, (No. 1 overall) - Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma
Second round - Pick 1, (No. 33 overall) - Rodger Saffold, LT, Indiana

Third round - Pick 1, (No. 65 overall) - Jerome Murphy, DB, South Florida
Fourth round - Pick 1, (No. 99 overall) - Mardy Gilyard, WR, Cincinnati
Fifth round - Pick 1, (No. 132 overall) - Michael Hoomanawanui, TE, Illinois

Fifth round - Pick 32, (No. 163 overall)

Sixth round - Pick 1, (No. 170 overall)

Seventh round - Pick 1, (No. 208 overall)
Seventh round - Pick 19, (No. 226 overall)
Seventh round - Pick 47, (No. 254 overall) - compensatory selection

I got this from the Rams website. They drafted someone named Trung, so they could have screwed up their list...

Did anyone have us picking Saffold or Murphy before their selection? I feel we should have gone a different direction. I will support my team but with the # of wins the last few yrs and from what I've seen the FO do in FA this yr and last, I grow tired.

What frustrates me is our inability to engineer trades. You have teams like the cheateriots stock piling picks year after year in high rounds at that. We need so much help in so many areas and we won't accomplish them staying pat with the draft places we have (had).

I heard the Rams were listening to offers for that 1st pick in the 2nd round, but all of the offers were way lower than what they wanted.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Barron traded for a pick (or picks) in this last day. If nothing else, drafting an OT in the 2nd round is a major wake-up call to Barron.

You don't just take every offer because its there. If you don't think its valuable enough, screw that and take the best guy on your board. Saffold was the best guy on the rams board "by far" and filled a team need. Protecting the investment in BRadford, what the heck is the problem here?

7 more picks today with everyone's (including my) hope at 33, shows what fans know as he is sitting at the top of the fourth round. Trust the FO until they give you a reason not to.

Until the franchise is indeed sold, I cannot fully trust the front office. They are a huge part of why we are where we are at (not including Devaney so much, and not Spagnolo). Remember, it was the front office that allowed Linehan to dismantle our team into such a non-competitive state. Remember when he cut Hedgecock? Remember that we had 5 tight ends one season?

All of that being said, I have faith that we will be better this year. I think that we have drafted well although we really need a good receiver. Robinson is the only one I see as being good and he still has some health questions.

I am glad to see the WR and TE picks. i don't know much about them, but we need better catching ability than what we have.

Rams receiver pick #100 (3rd round) and pick #141 (4th round). I'm assuming 3rd rounder for Jenkins and 4th rounder for McLeod

If Rams trade pick #33 in round 2 for? What is it Worth?
                        by Shan the Ram Man
The last couple of years I've watched the NFL draft. The announcers have said, the first pick in round two on the second day of the draft is worth a bunch. It is like starting a whole new draft over again.

If Rams trade the 1st round pick and get either Browns or Redskins 2nd round pick in this years draft. The Rams will be picking early in round two anyway with there pick.

First option, Would Ram fans be happy trading pick #33 for a first round pick next year.

Second option, trade down for more draft picks.

Third, for a player and maybe a future pick.

What kind of trade, if any, would it take for the Rams to drop to a late first round pick? No hope of getting any of the top ten players.
