Re: Any more news on Atogwe
There has been no news on Atogwe whatsoever. Not even talk of visits or anything.@EssexRam_ -
Re: Any more news on Atogwe
Atogwe can become an unrestricted free agent on june 1 according to todays new york times. I dont see how anyone could say that we will do "anything to keep him" when we tendered him at the lowest level. I think all indications are that we are not going to sign him to a big contract.

Re: Any more news on Atogwe
Since we tendered him and the tender signing period is over, he can't sign with anyone else at this point, though I hadn't heard that part about being an unrestricted free agent on June 1st.
I don't want to over pay him, and at this point I don't think that he'd demand too much, seeing that he was possibly the easiest RFA to sign and yet no one sniffed him. Give him a long term deal and get it over with!I believe!:ram:Comment

Re: Any more news on Atogwe
We do not have any matching rights based on the level we tendered him at. In addition, according to rotoworld (and i have seen this in other places as well), he becomes an unrestricted free agent june 1 if he doesnt sign the 1.26 million tender. I hope the information is not correct on that unrestricted info, i am sure its correct on the no matching rights as i have read that multiple times.

Re: Any more news on Atogwe
The Rams had matching rights if Atogwe was signed before April 15. At this point, the Rams have until June 1 to sign him to a long-term deal or to agree to pay him 110% of his 2009 salary. Otherwise, he becomes a UFA.Comment

Re: Any more news on Atogwe
It looks like maybe teams are taking a wait and see approach with him. No one probably wants to sign him if he can't pass a physical right now.
I saw this on KFFL today:
St. Louis Rams FS Oshiomogho Atogwe (shoulder, hernia) had reconstructive shoulder surgery following the season and is also fighting a sports hernia, reports ESPN's Chris Mortensen, via Twitter, according to sources.Comment
