Re: How do you hope the Rams handle Bradford's rookie year?
I was torn between the first two options but, in the end, went with "trial by fire."
If he's the best QB on the roster, play him. He'll take his lumps, but he'll be that much more ready in 2011.
For me, the deciding factor was the fact that the Rams are a running team now. Hopefully, with a healthy O line and a productive running game, the Rams won't have to put Bradford in too many difficult spots.

I say play him as soon as he is ready. If that be opening day, so be it. I wouldn't advocate having him play just a little bit here and there before he takes over, though. At some point, whether it's week one or week twelve, he should get his debut and have a chance to run the offense long enough to make up for mistakes and develop a rhythm with his offense. I don't think he'd get that if we just brought him in for a few series or a quarter early on. Plus, Bradford's official debut might save the team from a t.v. blackout for at least one week of the season if they wanted to market it.

Trial by fire, we cannot sit our $50 million dollar man.A defeated look of consternation, dissappointment, or even pain. The name derives from the look one often gets when challenged by a large BM.

IF he is ready then get him in there. He will be better than ANYTHING we had last year, and with the O line coming together (new additions and thru training camp) he needs to gel with them.
He called all the new rookies from the 2010 draft to welcome them to the Rams and talked about the chance they have to help rebuild this team.
Hes a leader already, man I like this kid.
GO RAMS!!!

If he is ready, that is IF he is head and shoulders above the others by opening day, play him. If there's any doubt that by week 1 he is not the top QB, go ahead and work him in gradually. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I said he should sit a year. Mel Kiper thinks that he should sit a year. I would rather he learn how to read an NFL defense, work on his footwork, and learn the playbook. Bradford is less NFL prepared and walking into a tougher situation than guys like Sanchez. He will be great as long as we are patient. That said, I would be 10x more excited about opening day if Bradford is taking snaps.

Sit him until the last 4 weeks of the season. That way he doesn't get knocked around too badly. Let Feely take the brunt of the punishment this season, nothing is invested in him. The Rams won't be winning anything anyway this season.

Tougher situation? I'll buy that. Less prepared? No way. Sanchez played one year at USC. He was pretty raw (as his TD/Int. ratio would indicate).

Put Sanchez with a bad team and he would not even be in this conversation
