I suggest this a couple of weeks ago. It's really not that much of a stretch (no pun intended). He's nearly 300 pounds already, and we probably wouldn't penalize him as much for keeping skittles on him during game time. We could play him at nose to take up space. Think of the possibilities!

I really wanted Barron to be a productive tackle in the NFL, but at this point its just not happening. Sure he was a "starting" LT. But he was not a good LT.

Now Bobby, as many have said, is playing ou of position. He is not the freak speed rusher you need on the outside in a 3-4, and I guess he never hot used to being a MLB.

we essentially got one disappointment (Carpenter) and gave another up (Barron) in hopes that in different systems they can produce according to the expectations when drafted.

according to cowboy fans they are as happy to part with him as we are with Barron, both which are penalty making machines. Maybe if we try to get AJ Hawk this guy will produce ;)

I personally think barron was unfairly malinged. Is he terrific? No. Is he good enough to win with? In my opinion, yes. Barron was a left tackle that played his entire career out of position until last year. One year guys at left tackle.

The rams have tons of problems. Was barron one of them? In my opinion, no. Could he be upgraded? Of course. But there were a ton of other glaring weaknesses that were a lot more pressing in my view.

Once the decision was made to not resign him, i dont think carpenter is bad value for him. Its one teams problem for another.

Bottom line, i think barron is a starting caliber nfl tackle who still has plenty of upside as a left tackle as he settles into the position full time.

Alex barron was the second-most penalized player in the NFL (behind Robert Gallery) before the start of last season. Also, he always seemed to commit the false starts at backbreaker times for the team. He wouldn't just blow the play, but kill the momentum. Still, though, I hate the Dallas Cowboys.

Russell is bigger than his whole offensive line.
