  • If you're coming to So.Fla. this week...

    Let me know.

I think PostalRam is hosting a tailgate... POSTAL ARE YOU OUT THERE? Hopefully he'll post some info on that so we can all meet.

Some tips from a long-time South Floridian...

    1. Stone crab season started last week. Do partake. But, don't overpay by going to some fancy restaurant like Joe's. Best bet: if you're staying in Fort Lauderdale, look up Captain Mike's Seafood shop in Davie. They bring the claws in on their own boats and cook them up daily. Get a few pounds to go (much cheaper than Joe's) and find a nice spot to chow down. Just don't forget the mustard sauce!

    2. If you have the time, check out the Shark Valley trail in the Everglades National Park. On a 15 mile loop (which you can walk, bike or ride a tram) you will get closer to our local denizen, the alligator, than you ever expected. You can also see deer, wild boar, snakes, turtles and dozens of species of birds.

    3. If you want to go to a great beach (and you're not into the glitz of South Beach), try Lloyd State Park in Fort Lauderdale. Quiet, clean beaches with a good restaurant and canoe rentals for the inlets where you will likely see raccoons, spotted eagle rays, and nesting ospreys.

    4. If you're driving around between 4:00 and 6:00, tune into AM 560 to hear Hank Goldberg's radio show. He's the ESPN prognosticator who is a long time Miami icon. You can bet he'll have some Rams as guests during the week.

    5. Enjoy the weather. Forcast is Sunny and 85 degrees!

The least AvengerMania'sManiac could do is invite all those hurricane refugees back so they don't spread that Screw-up-the-Election bacteria so readily up here in the northern states.

                  For the Team: Week 13
                  by RamsFanSam
This post is directed straight to the players and coaches of the Rams.

We know you visit us, or at least you hear about what we are saying over here. So, I'm just going to be vocal, and say what I think, and hope you DO read this. A response would be cool, but I don't expect one.

Marc - I read your comments you made after the game. That didn't sound like the guy I met in October of last year. You sound furious, and you have every right to be. I know you are one heck of a great QB, and your calm manner you have is one reason you can shred teams when you need to. But, after today, speak your mind. I'm behind you.

Steven Jackson - I wondered about you at first. This season, you made me a believer. You aren't Marshall, and that's a good thing. You've earned respect on your own. I like seeing you pound that ball, taking the defense with you. Keep it up.

Isaac - Yeah, you are getting older, but you still have the moves. Don't just give up now. Even though you haven't made the 'big play' this year, you can.

Torry - one bit of advice. Throw a fit. Scream. Get fired up. Oh, yeah, and score more TD's.

Ritchie - Love the fierceness, but calm down a tiny bit. Those zebras don't like entheusiasm as much as I do.

Alex - do NOT move UNTIL the snap. And when you do move...keep EVERYONE away from Marc.

Adam - Love your work ethic, but if you hurt too much to play, think about the team first. We'll understand.

Tye and Fakhir - Consistent play is THE goal here. Yes, we love the INT's. We'd like consistent 3 and outs, too.

Pisa - you are one tough kid. A dislocated elbow doesn't slow you down, but since the broken hand, you've been quiet. Kinda wierd, if you ask me. Where'd you go?

Oshimigo - when you see someone NOT wearing blue and gold, and they have the ball....TAKE THEM TO THE GROUND!!!

Wilkins - what can I say? You da man!

The rest of you guys - where's the fire? The object of the game is WINNING. Sure, you like those big paychecks, but here's a secret....if you work hard, play harder, and start winning, those checks might just get bigger. Don't work hard, lose games, you might be asking people, "Ya want fries with that?", and that does NOT pay well. You went to college. Use the education. Who makes more money, a great football player, or an out of work liberal arts major?

If anyone wants to add to this, go ahead, but please remember, you are representing the Clan here....

                  Quotes from the Players
                  by RamWraith
                  CB Tye Hill

                  (On having some time off)

“I’m definitely going home. Try and regroup and get ready to come back. I think this bye week couldn’t come at a more perfect time for me. I’m just looking forward to it.”

(On this bye week being much different from the bye week in college)

“I don’t think there is too much difference between Clemson, because our bye week, sometimes you can…the only good thing about the bye week is that you get to go home, but if you wanted to know when they’re going to stop practice…but here it’s a little different because I think we will practice up until like Thursday. We’ll be in full pads, hitting. The good thing about it is that it does help a lot of people to get healthy. They take it real light on the players that really need to get healthy. For me, if anything, I don’t think it could come at a better time for me.”

(On how he feels physically going into the bye week)

“I feel like my legs get a little tighter now than in college. When you look at it, we played four preseason games, and then the regular season, so I think we’ve played a total of 10 games already. The bye week really seems like it’s coming at the end of the season. My body is ready for it.”

(On learning from DE Anthony Hargrove’s situation)

“I really don’t know what to say about the situation. I really don’t know his whole situation, because like you said, we play two totally different positions, and we’re in two different rooms. I really don’t know what his real situation was. I’ve been too busy worrying about how to play. I hate to see him go. It’s a job. You’ve got to take it as so.”

(On going into the bye week with a loss)

“Losing before the bye, I think it gave us extra motivation to really work hard, and to really sit back and think about thing, and come back next week and just get ready to play. I think losing probably would help us coming off the bye.”

                  (On the pass interference call)

“That just goes to show that I’m a rookie. That just goes to show you what kind of season it is so far.”

                  LB Will Witherspoon

(On his speed contributing to his skills at the linebacker position)

“I think it does a great job utilizing my skills. My skills aren’t worth nothing if I don’t have a great group of guys to work around me. Pisa and Chillar, you know, that defensive front. The DE’s. All of us have to work together to really accomplish something.”

(On his job being more difficult if others aren’t doing their job properly)

“It makes it a whole lot tougher. That’s really what it comes down to. Knowing that the guys are going to get the job done all around.”

                  ...

How do the OTHERS think we'll do...
                  by Varg6
Ok, I have an interesting question for all the Rams fans out there.

Ok, we won against Denver. A team with very high expectations. Jake Plummer, a guy who threw 7 ints last year, and now, already has 3 in his first game.

Will this change from no respect, to hmm...maybe the Rams are the real deal after all?

Personally, (well, obviously), I think we're the real deal, and this win was HUGE for us, and it was especially a huge win for us because our defense basically won it. Who would've thought, right?

So...Are we finally going to get some respect from others after being a team that basically everyone said we'd get annihilated by?
