Bruce almost traded??

Rumor has it; on the NFL Channel. Apparently a trade almost went through on Tuesday which would have sent Isaac Bruce to the Ravens for LB Edgerton Hartwell.

I am getting this information from another board. Anyone know more about this? This would have been the icing on the cake for me. Sent me to the funny farm!!

Wow, that would have been one interesting trade. As much as I have all the respect for my boy Bruce, for a chance at Hartwell my brain would have had to override my heart and let that trade happen. Hartwell may be the best run stuffing LB in the league.

I am getting this information from another board.

I read the same thing at the official Rams site board...but have found no confirmation anywhere else. I wonder how Bruce will feel when he hears about this "almost trade".

One poster (possibly the same on both boards - PD and official site) claimed to have heard something about this on the NFL Channel. No other person or news service has even mentioned this. Why would anyone presume this is reliable?

Well, if it really was Hartwell I would have made that trade everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. And Bruce is my boy. However, the chance to solidify the one major weakness on the Rams by giving up Bruce with McDonald and Curtis coming along actually makes sense to me.

So would trading Bruce for Ray Lewis, but I doubt that trade was on the table either.

I dont think the Rams or Georgia would do that to Ike, but ya never know I guess. I cant see anything else but him retiring as a Ram and going in the hall as a Ram.

No way this trade is made. If you take Bruce away from this offense, the offense suddenly becomes average at best. Isaac Bruce will retire as a Ram, or I will go nuts.

It's always about the offense until playoff time, then when the defense dosen't perform due to lack of personnel everyone starts screaming at Martz because the defense didn't perform.

There are 3 main components to the Rams success in recent years.

1. Orlando Pace
2. Isaac Bruce
3. Torry Holt

Take away one of these compenents and we're just barely above average.
