  • My partial cure for the offensive line

undefinedDid you all notice that Grant Williams played much better in the preseason on the LEFT side of the line. In reviewing my game tapes it shows that he has a MUCH quicker drop step on the left side than on the RIGHT side. So my temp fix is to flip flop he and Pace. Pace could play any position he is sooooo quick for his size. Although he is NOT having a Pro Bowl Year. Use Tercero or Dishman at left guard I personelly thought Dishman was an absolute road grader over there although Tercero was the better puller on the Rams delayed counters back to the left.
    What do YOU think?

You have to keep Pace at LT. That's Bulger's blind side. If Williams had been there, Bulger would be in a wheelchair by now.

      Hello Caramsfan:
An interesting proposition to be sure; however, I seriously doubt that the Rams would consider it at this point in the season. I guess we will just have to suffer with Mr. Williams for the rest of the year.

P.S. BTW I used to live in Visalia. It was a nice town and was really growing when we left in '92.

      WHAT SAY YE?

Say ye we agree....I've been here since 81 formerly from Alhambra which borders on Parts of Los Angeles....
It really wouldnt be that big a change on the line...Williams is quicker on his drop step and was only beat once on a speed rush that I remember in pre-season. Pace will play great wherever he is......but it will never happen.

What about the numerous times he's been beat on the right side of the line during the regular season this year, sometimes by rather mediocre ends?

Sorry, I just don't agree with the idea of shifting these two around.

I trust Williams guarding Bulgers blind side as much as I trust a pyromaniac to run a check on my gas line.

:helmet: The only thing I can say is I think he would be BETTER then on the right side. He started for New England in the Super Bowl vs Us and made the other Grant (Wistrom) disapeer. He also didn't allow any sacks from that side in the pre season that I can remember. Especially vs Oakland when we turned Jackson loose on them. I wish the Rams woul hand him the ball just a little more often....If they would have given him the ball on second down on a couple of those three and out drives vs Miami for some positive yardage as well as keeping the clock going they would have never scored that end of half TD (no time left) and may have just gotten a 40 yard run from him. He's capable of busting one in the same manner as an Eric Dickerson.

Yep, Dad retired Navy there. I spent about twelve years off and on there. Last time I was there was when I graduated in '82.
