  • Advice: From Ram to Ram

Hi there im new here at the forum here´s a little about me and my ram history. I was transformed into a Rams fan a year after the greatest show on turf won the superbowl by my two uncles that used to love the team since they were playing at LA. Im from a small town called Veracruz in Mexico and since 2001 ive been watching my Rams and loving them everyday so much more.

I decided to search for a place where Rams fans could answer me a thing, you´ll see after more than 10 years one of my life´s dream will come true, im going to travel to St.Louis to watch the Rams play against the Jetas ! its awesome and I will love to you know have the complete St. Louis Rams experience as im in the town.

I really would like to know Rams Park but, do anyone of you knows if it is possible to have tour into it? Or at less have a picture with lombardi trophy with my Marshall Faulk jersey on??? I´ve been searching in the web but, theres no information about it, I decided to ask directly to NFL customer service but they told me to ask the rams service that have not answer me in 3 days, so I decided to ask Rams Nation maybe you may know something

As well what other attraction could i visit in st.louis? beside the gateway arch, forest park, six flags, missouri university im looking to really enjoy the city

Thank you for your advice, I will really appreciate it,

    Sincerely, a HUGE RAMS FAN!

Welcome to the forum man! Glad to hear you are getting to a game at last. I myself don't know.. since I haven't been to a game either. But I'm sure, quite a few people here will be able to give you info.

    Welcome again and Go Rams!

        Welcome aboard!!!

Taking a tour of the Brewery is always a good take and it's FREE!

Also souvenir shopping is always fun.

I have to second the advice on the brewery tour.

I think if you're already at the Arch you might as well try a riverboat tour since it's right there, and it's in season until December oddly.

                [ ¡BIENVENIDO MEXIRAM!

You could always check in advance here (posting links is not allowed but you'll figure it out): 'Explore St Louis(.com)' -- no spaces -- and there you will find quite a few places to visit and enjoy.

Unfortunately (very much so), Rams Park and their Russell Training Center in Earth City, Missouri, are not open to the public during the NFL regular season. I called (314) 982-7267 and was very disappointed to learn this; not sure if this is the same with all NFL teams. Rams Park is only accessible to fans during Training Camp in August, possibly July too.

Still, I suppose that once in St. Louis, you will find enough to see and do to fill at least a full week's schedule of vacation! Including a Rams memorabilia store or two.

Six Flags OMA is only open on weekends, and I believe through October. It is also far enough from St. Louis that you would need a renatl car. A cab ride would probably cost more than a rental. If you like gambling, there is a fairly new casino across the "road" from the Dome. You can also ride the metorlink across the river, into Illinois, to get to the riverboat casino. If you get to Forest Park, you owe it to yourself to visit the St louis Science Center - especially if you will have kids with you.

Yeah I don't know if I would ever suggest six flags anyway.

To me that place is just one series of queuing after another.

It depends on what you're into and whether or not you have kids. The St. Louis City Museum is awesome too, you might check that out online and see if it has any appeal.

The phrase 'Los Carneros' means 'The Rams' in Spanish.

Yes, 'carnero' is Spanish for 'ram'. Here is a Scottish Ram Fullback.

                              Per some dictionaries:

carnero s. m. Mamífero rumiante ovino, macho, con grandes cuernos estriados y enrollados en espiral y cuerpo cubierto de lana espesa: "el carnero es el macho de la oveja."
                              Translation...
"ram - masculine noun. Ruminant ovine mammal, male; has large grooved spiral horns and its body is covered with rich thick wool": "the ram is the male sheep."

In general terms a 'carnero' could mean any male sheep.

For zoology experts however, the specific name for a Bighorn Ram (ovis canadensis) is 'musmón' or also, 'borrego cimarrón', i.e., the ram species that is not farmed for wool and lives in the mountains of North America from Mexico to Alaska. As we know, when mature they are quite majestic.

Following Rams are: WR, DT, DE and a G.

                              --

                              -

Rams QB taking a break between drills.

Below, Rams LB calling out the signals.

Greetings All... I've Been a Ram Fan all my Life , My earliest Ram Team memory was when I saw them In the collisuem, in LA, Visiting with my Grandparents as a young Lad. I was so Taken by the Game They stuck with me for Life. What got me to that Game was a TV commercial Featuring George Allen, He said " Hello I'm George Allen, Coach of the Los Angeles Rams and These are the Fearsome Foursome, The Toughest Defensive Linemen in the NFL...Thats all I talked about.. So on a Train Ride with my Family from Pennsylvania to The West Coast, It was quite a trip, and Me and My grandpa went to see the Rams.... Roman Gabriel was QB,, I have an awesome Collection, Im so rediculously Rams I wear Home and away jerseys appropriately on Game Day, I travel in the region if the Rams are within 3 hours drive...NEXT year Im going to a Home Game In St.Louis..., I even had the nerve to ask Johnny Unitus On the Ocean City borad walk for an Autpgraph, and I will never forget whay he said to me. He looked at my Rams jersey..Just happened to have it on ( and yep its the one pictured) it was an LA Jersey..Guess it still, is, )) He Said Rams Huh, Guess thier Owner aint so bad,, The he sternly looked at me and said,,,Guess u Realize u Ruined my Sunday, Right after that , all these people where running past me to him saying I knew it, Thats him....I kinda felt bad,,But I got it Personalized,, So much for Reminiscing...I was part of the Old Forum at the St.Louis Ram website as RAM56 and Im Damn Proud to be here!:r

Hello everyone. I just signed on here yesterday, found the place by accident, actually. But, it's nice to find a place where I can talk about my favorite sports team. I'm in Huntington Beach California, and have watched and followed the Rams since their playing days at the LA coliseum. Unlike many of my fellow Ram fans here in So. Cal, I stayed with the horns even though that "b***h" took my team away from me and moved them to St Louis. Anyway, it's great to get online here and read and chat about the Rams. Tonight's the first preseason game of 2006, and I'm so anxious to see the "new-look" Rams. I guess one good thing about being a Ram fan in California is I get to see the game on TV, which I understand is blacked out locally. Hmmmmm, that situation sounds familiar. In the last few dismal years in LA, we suffered the same fate. Dwindling attendance and blackouts. For you guys in St. Louis, don't let that happen! Support your team, or Madam Ram may.... well, you never know. GO RAMS!!!!

Rams "Faithful" Is Sucking The Enjoyment Out Of Being A Ram Fan
                                by AvengerRam_old
Allow me to get a bit philosophical for a moment...

Why do I, as a Ram fan, visit Ram football sites with the frequency that I do? Certainly, its not to obtain information, as that could be done in far less time. No, the primary reason is to enjoy the comeraderie of fellow Ram fans and "homer" sportswriters who cover the team.

Unfortunately, I find with increasing consistency that the "faithful" with whom I seek to share my love of the team has an increasingly and somewhat shockingly prevalent negative component.

                                Today is a perfect example.

The Rams won their opener. Sure, the game was much closer than most had expected. But there was plenty of good to take away from this game. The maligned O line did a great job. "Over-the-hill" Marshall Faulk and Isaac Bruce had great games. Rookie Steven Jackson continues to impress. Even Marc Bulger, who made some mistakes, overall played a good game.

I have no problem with anyone who tempers such observations with cautionary words about the problems the Rams exhibited today. The Rams did turn the ball over too much, had clock management snafus and were generally ineffective in the red zone.

My problem is with the manner in which the criticism is expressed. There seem to be a growing number of fans and sportswriters who go out of their way to stress the problems and downplay any positives.

We've been down this road before. I'm sure many will jump on me and say I'm a "rose colored glasses wearing Pollyanna" or something to that effect. I'm sure others will say they are just being objective realists.

But that just brings me to my original premise. I'm not here to be informed of flaws that I am already aware exist. I'm here to enjoy the company of other Ram fans. I read Ram sportwriters not to be informed - I can do that with simple KFFL blurbs - I read them to get an inside view on "our team."

So to those who feel the need to be negative to get their voices heard, I'm going to try to just not listen anymore.

I'm here to enjoy the team, and arguing with malcontents is simply not enjoyable.
