Re: on a platter..
The Vikings play Seattle and the Lions play the Packers?
Wow, it's a double edged sword.
Ideally we should prefer the Packers to win and go on to win their division so that we don't end up in a tie with them in the wildcard race.
But I hadn't really realized that in hoping Seattle drops a game to the Vikings, that the Vikings would get a win! (seems simple enough, but I only thought as far as "hey, Seattle has to go to Minnesota, which could be a loss").
Well, win out solves everything. Nice to control your own destiny. I think the Eagles may have a say in that, but the Rams are tough at home.

6) 49rs over Cardinals. More space between us and Cardinals, hurt any Cards playoff hopes before our game next week.
It's a minor point, but a point still the same.

Hopefully A.
Just checked the Playoff Scenarios, the following represents what I am hoping for this weekend, in order of approximate importance.
1) Rams beat Panthers, obvious, keep controlling our own destiny.
2) Vikings beat Seattle, even though the vikes are in the wild card hunt, some space between us and the hawks would be nice.
3) Philly beats Washington. Philly will clinch first round buy and have less to play for against the Rams later this month.
4) New England over Bengals. Pats need to clinch the AFC East to solidify Jets as a wild card team (see next item).
5) Houston over Jets. Solidify Jets as a wild card team, they will have less to play for against the Rams later in season.
6) 49rs over Cardinals. More space between us and Cardinals, hurt any Cards playoff hopes before our game next week.
7) New Orleans over Dallas. Both wild card candidates, keep them both no better than 5 - 8.
8) Detroit over Green Bay. Both wild card candidates, let the Vikes run away with the north, hurt the Pack as a wild card.
9) Oakland over Atlanta. Generally AFC over NFC helps us, always want to hang more losses on NFC wild card candidates.
10) Jacksonville over Chicago. Again AFC over NFC.
11) Baltimore over Giants. Again AFC over NFC.
12) San Diego over Tampa. AFC over NFC.

Re: on a platter..
As the Hawks continue to falter, I am believing more and more that 7-9 will win this division.

If the NFC West was a platter of red meat, the Rams would be vegatarians or thinking about becoming vegatarians. So sad.
I just hope that they get hungary for something.

Re: On a platter...
A: Win 3 out of 4 games and win the division.
Even if just "a little more", I think the Rams are hungrier than the Seahawks.
Chandler has been to the Super Bowl and understands this time of the season better than several Seahawks put together. I believe in the mettle of some of our senior players in going into this final stretch.
If we can only execute and make this thing happen. :helmet:Last edited by RealRam; -12-07-2004, 05:53 PM.

Huge Game vs. Carolina.
As are all games at this point, but I think a statement can be made (regardless of who's QB and RB) that we want this thing with a decisive victory vs. Carolina.
Definitely need to kick some Panther @$$!!!!
Bulger hasn't played as well on the road, so perhaps it's a good thing that Chandler takes this one? And then get MB back in the Dome for Phily/NYJ!

Although, it's been looking like "C" lately, I'm gonna have to go with "D" Bob...er, sbramfan. I think the tie-breaker is going to save our bacon with the Seahawks. Even so, we are back in the driver seat. The division is ours to win or lose.
Let's Go Rams...kick some Carolina A$$!!!Last edited by viper; -12-07-2004, 05:21 PM.

OK, is Avenger Ram the only one with access to start a poll in this forum? It appears so, so I will submit my poll old school. Just answer and we can add 'em up.
The Seahawks continue to hand the Rams the division on a platter, so what will the rams do with this opportunity:
A: Win 3 out of 4 games and win the division.
B: Pass the ball back to the Seahawks as in "I don't want the ball, you take it" (aka, lose to Carolina and pack it in).
C: Neither team wants to win the division enough, so flip a coin.
D: Both teams will step up and win at least 2 more games but the Rams tie-breaker will be the determining factor.
interesting tidbit: I did the math, and the Rams could win the division at 6-10.Tags: None
