  • Give the Rams a Break! (This week, if possible)

Has anyone noticed that the law of averages has just not been on the Rams' side this year. Unlike last year, when the Rams got many breaks, this year, it seems that luck has not been on their side.

So, this week, I bid the Fates and the Lords of Chance... Give the Rams a break!!!!

Let a tipped ball fall in the hands of a Ram defender.

Let an opposing team's fumble bounce to a Ram, instead of out of bounds.

Let the refs be watching when the opposition holds or interferes.

Come on...... GIVE US A BREAK ALREADY!!!!!!

This would be a great week for it.

      Chance favors the prepared mind....

Let's face it the Rams have not prepared well for most games. I hope this week will different.... as I do every week.

Is not getting the team prepared MM's # 1 job?

I have heard that before. I'm not sure of its validity, but I'll take preparation over luck nevertheless.

Injuries are testing sMartz' imagination. We're seeing his character now. Liking what we see is still open to debate.

And it didn't get much prettier this past weekend ....

I can't buy into the law of averages. For example: I just put $100 on "red" three times in a row...but it came up black.

It's got to come up red this time, I said to myself....

I'm sure you can imagine the result.

Anyway, Rams led the league in turnovers last year with 46. They are worst in the league this year with 11 (I think it's 11?)

Perhaps there's a connection from 12-4 last year vs. 6-6 this year?

This year, if it wasn't for bad luck, they wouldn't have any.

            I hear you AV.
I just hope that all plays are exicuted to perfection, no injeies, and a few big turnovers on D would be nice.
I'm having that kind of month too; could use a huge break meself. :upset:

Re: Give the Rams a Break! (This week, if possible)

I'll definitely take good luck when it happens but I don't necessarily think the Rams will need it.

I was called crazy for suggesting it earlier in the season, and it's not an attempt to knock Bulger, but Chandler looked pretty good in preseason. Hopefully one week with the starters in practice will be enough to get him in rhythm but I think there's a chance he might have a good game. I have conflicting thoughts on Chandler since he looked so bad in Chicago the last couple of years but he did look good in preseason. Hopefully the latter prevails.

I think the Cason acquisition will pay immediate dividends. I, like so many, have been confounded by the choice of Arlen Harris as the kickoff return man. If I had to guess, I would say Martz made the choice based on ball-security and I don't blame him. Since Horne left we really haven't had a true return man and many of the subsequent experiments have lost the ball. I think Cason can be a good returner. He has strong hands and knows how to secure the ball from his rb experience and he has the speed to break one if the opportunity comes along.

The Panthers' offense scares me but maybe...just maybe, the Rams will continue to improve off of last weeks good performance. I'm not too enthusiastic about improvement based solely on the Niner game but I can't say their good performance doesn't count because the opposition was bad. That's when a team HAS to perform. If they would have done poorly against the Niners then we'd know for sure that they are going to stay bad. But, since they put up a good game against an opponent they should have done well against it gives me hope that they can at least put up a fight against the good running game of Carolina.

I've been in agreement with a lot of the little moves Martz has been making recently and I hope they produce a positive result. Faulk being back will be a bonus in my mind as I don't think he's as hobbled as some do and if the Rams can put points on the board early, make Carolina one dimensional they might just pull out this "must-win" game.

                Let's see...

6 interceptions and a muffed punt.

That's the last time I invoke the Fates!

                  Week 4 ???????
                  by theodus69
I don't post much anymore but I will say this.......It sure is nice to be in week 14 and the Rams are actually still fighting for a chance at the playoffs. The seasons has been pretty much done by WEEK 4!!!!!! As of the last 4 or 5 years. You know, I get that feeling with Bradford under center like I did when Warner was here..........We always got a chance! And look what he has done in such a short time and with limited resoures. But i can't take away from the D either. That side of the ball is really coming together as is this whole team. Bye Bye Week 4, I think we will be looking at playoff chances a hellova lot more!!!!!!

                  Rams bye week
                  by RamsFanSam
Having to deal with bye week is tough - especially when we had such a great game last week.

Will we come back strong, carrying on from the momentum of beating the Colts, or will we come back weak, struggling to make plays?

                  Only the Shadow knows...
