The offense, I have confidence with the talent put on the field for defense and in the coaching staff for the defense. The offense on the other hand leaves many questions in my mind so I'm most curious how they'll do.
    The restoration is complete!

Excellent Q. VERY tough decision! Almost a 50-50 situation for me. ;)

But I voted offense with a slight edge. Long overdue for the Rams offense to shine more, shine better. Last few years our defense has been ahead overall, carrying its own weight per se.

Offense, you've got the weapons now. Offense ... it's showtime! :ram:

The defense is going to be .... BRUTAL. I love it. Finally. Lambs no more!
If a team won their division seven straight times, that would be a NFL record. Now add on that team did it with seven different QB's in seven straight years, that record is unbeatable. To do that feat, you must of had a great Defense. Jack Youngblood was the captain of that defense.

Voted offense only because it's when we have our best chance to score and win the game. That stat matters to me most. Certainly looking forward to seeing the defense under G. Williams. Confident that it will be better with good draft picks and sound schemes.

            Go Rams!

Defense, defintely. I'm so tired of watching the same ol' "soft" Rams, I can't wait to see my guys finally beat up the other guys for a change. That being said, the offense will be the big "if" this year and I can understand why others will be watching that side of the ball. "If" they play well, the Rams will contend. "If" they do not, I expect another sub .500 year. I expect the offense to do just enough to win some games this year, but the defense will carry them.

But the defensive line should be brutal on opposing QB's. I expect a lot of sacks and INT's, and I've been waiting a long time to see a dominating defense wearing my team colors. Even during the GSOT days, I would have enjoyed a dominating defense just as much, if not more. I love defense.

Initially the defense, given all our new toys there. It will be interesting to see if they live up to the hype. Preseason should be fun even though it will be vanilla. On the other side of the coin, I am sure we all will be watching Greg Robinson, Bradford, Britt, big Jake if he's healthy etc. Really who can choose one side over the other - it's like heads or tails - they are each half of a whole coin. I am really really ready for some football - that's for sure ..

But looking forward to enjoying the defense.

I want to see this offensive line develop and smear people into the plastic grass.

Please, let's promise not to use this word ever again. It set the course for the team last year. We started camp in "that way" last year and never saw chocolate or strawberry all season.

I went defense, I think it has the talent in place to be a top five defense. Looking forward to seeing Donald play and if he can have a huge impact year one like Aldon Smith did. Looking forward to see which player(s) will rise out of the talent pool we have in all the new DBs. Finally how different will this defense play with Williams as the DC.

The media still wants to portray the Rams as a pass-happy, weak defense team like the 2004-05 squads. Do you think this still accurately describes the Rams?

                                ...but I told you so.

I go back to my comments I made earlier this preseason. We are going to have to rely on the defense for the next couple of weeks while these players get use to this new system. When we start clicking, look out folks. This could be a fun season of growth and maybe even a few wins along the way. The team in my book looked solid. And I fully expected the offense to stumble this week.

But defense, as the old saying goes, wins championships.

Ours defense has shown it is up to the task!

Now the offense needs to get to be bit more consistent.

Hopefully Legatron had his confidence boosted today and will only get better. His leg strength has shown to be amazing but that is moot if the accuracy isn't there.

The team is showing improvement in all facets and things look good for (hopefully) several years!

Which would you rather do: Dominate on one side of the ball, be it offense or defense, or be average on both sides of the ball.

A Stat That Suggests The Ram Should Draft Offensive Players
                                by AvengerRam_old
Last year, as I suffered through the Rams many blowout losses, I usually felt like it was the ineptitude of the offense, far more so than the problems with the defense, that lead to the huge deficits.

So, I decided to crunch some numbers to see if my observation was accurate. Here's what I found.

In the 9 games last year that the Rams lost by 10 or more points, the Rams' defense held the opposition without an offensive TD for an average of 22:21. That means that, even in blowout losses, the Rams kept the other team out of the endzone for an average nearly one and one-half quarters.

What this tells me is that the defense often failed because it wore down due to an offense that couldn't stay on the field, didn't score points, and gave the defense bad field position.

All of this makes me wonder if the best way to fix the defense might be to improve the offense. If the Rams could add some real firepower to the offense, maybe the defense - even with the current players - would fare better occasionally playing with a lead.

I'm not saying the defense wouldn't benefit from an influx of talent. But I think an argument can be made that the offense needs it more.
