  • Maybe We Need To Lose To The Whiners...

I like to look at all things from every angle. And as i sat here thinking i came to the conclusion that losing to the whiners might be exactly what we need. Lets break this down.

    1. Maybe losing the home field advantage isnt such a bad thing. We are 6-0 on the road. I know that having to play in Chicago or green bay, in the cold is bad, but is it?

    2. When we lose to the Bucs or the Saints we can pawn it off on those two teams just knowing how to beat us. Every team in the NFL has a couple teams that they have trouble with. We lose to the saints and it's ah well they have our number. But losing to the whiners on the other hand might just be the wake up call we need. It might deflate the ego that the MEDIA has created for us, and it might get those passionate juices flowing again.

    3. The niners beating the Rams could inflate the already inflated whiner ego. This could be good. For teams in the NFL playing within your division is a war. Consisting of two, possibly more battles in one giant war for supremacy. We took the first battle in the war against the whiners, they may take the second, but we will win the third and decisive battle.

So maybe losing this battle against the whiners isn't such a bad thing. It may be just what we need to spark that fire that we all grew accustomed to the last two years. The fire hasn't died, it has only gone into hibernation and just needs to be relit. I keep scanning whiner sites hoping to find some trash talking quote from owens that might end up pinned up in the rams locker room. It Appears Mr. Big mouth is keeping his mouth shut so far. Maybe other teams are seeing what i'm seeing, a dorman monster waiting to be awoken. It took Japan bombing pearl harbour to awaken the united states, maybe a whiner will will awaken this sleeping giant. Who knows.

I don't want to lose to the Whiners even if it was a replacement game.

You make some good points Ramdog but I really think we need to win the division and home field advantage by beating the Whiners. We are 6-0 this year on the road but remember before the loss to the Aints, Warner was 16-0 at home. I like the idea of playing in the Lou for the playoffs.

A better scenario would be to beat the whiners and the division while losing to the Panthers or the Falcons. The Panthers or Falcons will never challenge for the division and a loss to one of them could provide the “wake up” call the offense needs. I am not convinced the Rams offense has been grounded enough after the two loses this year. I think one more loss due to high turnovers would wake them up. I would rather it not be against the Whiners. If we lose to them, they could win the rest of the year and take the division and homefield.

Back to reality though, we need to win from now to the Super Bowl. These guys are professionals and shouldn’t need another loss to get them to play better football.

        I agree...

Ramble i agree, just throwing out some thoughts. I couldn't stand to lose to those punks anyways. Butg something needs to fire up this team.

Ramdog, a sincere "thanks" ...but no thanks!

I hear what you're saying, really. And yet, in my opinion, a good smacking of the frisconians this weekend would be just as good an incentive and spark for the Rams!

Ah!, that we could get a resounding victory against the ninies! With convincing authority this time! Offense, defense, both (if Special teams could contribute fine, but... I wonder). Your post is appreciated friend.
Yes, GO RAMS!!! LET'S GO!!! :angryram:

No team has ever went 16-0 let along won the Superbowl too, so you only need to lose one game in a season. You've already done that twice. Too bad it was against Tampa Bay. You don't need to lose to San Fran too! Tampa is bad enough. No team has ever won the Superbowl after losing to Tampa Bay.....ever.:nerd:

Not to say your cursed now or anything.

A team broke the Ex Cubs factor this year and won the World Series, I think we can break this streak.

Ramdog, that is an interesting angle and your points are well thought out. I especially like point #2 re; Saints/Bucs have our # excuse.

I tend to agree in theory with Ramble On. re; if we are going to lose, then it would be better to lose to a different team than the Niners. I think the Colts would be best...they are not in the division and it would be a wake up close to the playoffs.

Secondly, continuing the consistent wins against the Niners will lend to their second guessing their own ability to beat us. I certainly think we have a little of that against the Saints.

Finally, imagine how it would feel to actually root against the Rams and for the Niners! LOL   ;)

                Interesting post, though

By the way, if I am not mistaken, Steve Young won a Super Bowl and played with the Bucs. Love the stat though Atlas.

No team has ever won the Superbowl after losing to the Buccaneers, but your saying that Steve Young once played for them and then moved on to San Fran, only to win the Superbowl? I never knew that!...Or am I am I misinterpreting this post? Just want to clarify.

                        Victory is GOOD...

Ramdog, again, no disrespect for your point of view, believe me.

It's just that the concept (even in theory)... of loosing this coming game against the frisco guys being "good" --kind of makes me cringe. You know what I mean, right? Let's forge and achieve this W convincingly!

It's sound pride, not boastfulness. Or as Queen Victoria would bluntly say, "We are not interested in the possibilities of defeat." A modern world version is, "as soon as you start thinking about lossing, you've already lost."

Nothing wrong with trying to be positive about a defeat after being defeated, but not before. It would be so good to stuff Owens and the rest of the ninahs, and company of whinahs.

Seems you've got a great sense of preparation and vision for what may develop. It's always good to have the spare solution.
But for now... :helmet: GO RAMS!!! For old times sake. :angryram:

Ok My new mindset concerning my post...

After once again thinking about things, i came to the conclusion that i wrote this post in some feeble attempt of preparing myself for what could very well be a whiner victory.

In a perfect world we will annihilate the whiners, but they are hungry, and we seem to be lacking the passion it takes to beat a hungry team. It reminds me of a hungry Buster Douglas coming into fight a relaxed and over confident Mike tyson. Tyson got his ass kicked because he didnt take it serious. I just hope the Rams know whats on the line here, everything.

Ramdog,I appreciate your post but NO NO NO we cant lose to the Whiners. If the Rams cant get up for this game then they are in serious trouble. If the Rams lose a well played hard fought battle I could probably live with that, but if we were to lose in the same fashion as we did against the Aints/Bucs I think it would be a disasterous blow to the morale of our team.I think our Rams want to prove they are the best and they have that chance Sunday.I have a hard time believing the Rams would let this one slip away.

:angryram: Go RAMS! STAY FOCUSED! WIN!:shield:

We could send the whiners into turmoil
                                by sjacksonrules
It was announced today that Colin with get the start on sunday. I think this helps us out game planning for him. I know he hasn't planned many games but I figure we can game similar to RG3 and there wasnt much tape on him either.

I think if we can win this game it would send the whiners into a downward spiral. If you didn't see Colin had to do everything he could to keep himself from smiling because he didn't want to upset Smith. If we can get a few picks on Colin that could cause Harbaugh to pull the plug half way through. Lets home we have the same sticky hands sunday that we had last week. Colin is a young player it should be easy to get into his head.

If the whiners lose this game I think that would cause alot of second guessing.

Here's to a Rams win! I think we can do it. We need to start fast and never let off the gas. Lets drive these whiners into the ground. I'm tired of the talk that they are best in the west. Last time I checked we were undefeated in the west, lets keep it that way!

here in the Bay area, I am hearing call after call about how crappy the Whiners are. some fans are lamenting the loss of Alex Smith lol.....They are without A.Smith, P.Willis and V.Davis. They have been run on, passed on and stepped on. They are in disarray. But, they are a proud organization and will not go down without a FIGHT. The Rams have a great opportunity this Thursday to come together and play good sound fundamental football against a division foe. The Whiners are ripe to be plucked. This game will tell many Ram fans quite a bit about their team.

This is a trap game for us. We have Division leader Seattle coming into the Dome next Sunday. I hope our team doesn't take the Whiners to lightly.

With the reported loss of Tye Hill the boys are gonna have their hands full. Pisa banged up, Bennett returning but still banged up, Pace out for the season. I remember last year we went through this and it sucked. One positive last year was even with the make shift line this teams talented offense exploded. What worries me is the 5 game skid last year when all these problems started popping up. This team cannot afford that this year. This division is gonna play hard and the winner may very well be 9-7 again with the way our teams play against each other. A true champion rises above adversity. If any team in the NFL is facing adversity right now its the Rams.

Speaking of adversity Frank Gore lost his mother this week. My prayers and thoughts are with him as he deals with that pain. As a fan of the rams though I have to be a little concerned about him leaving his pain all over our field much like Favre did to the Raiders. So basically I have decided he should break the single game rushing record against us but we still win by 3. Then of course Stephen Jackson breaks Gores record the following week.

Its been a tough week in Sports for me. Until winning the series over the Padres my Dodgers were struggling a little over the week losing 2 out of 3 to the hated giants. My fantasy team had a 44 point lead going into Sunday night. The problem there is the opposing team had Romo and T.O and all of a sudden my lead disappeared. Then of course there was my Rams. Its been a long time since I felt that dejected over a loss. I really had a feeling this team was gonna push deep into the playoffs setting up a couple Super Bowl returns over the next few years. They looked terrible over the course of that game. Add to that Pace getting pushed out of the season and I saw the season pass before my eyes.

This week we play the Whiners. This is a team supposedly on the rise. As good as that defense looked I still dont know if I buy it. This great Cardinals offense that we have heard about has looked anything but great over the last few seasons. Alex Smith looked terrible until the last drive (that does show some maturity with the comeback). Gore was not dominant he put up most his offenses yards but was not breaking off big gains all night. Right now you have a team that feels dejected and worn out like its week 9 of a tough season. You have another team in the Whiners that are all pumped up and ready to pounce. Where do the Rams draw inspiration from??? From the fact that we are playing the low down dirty whiners. A team that beat us up for a decade and called us "The same old sorry @$$ lambs". This is a game that many are saying is a must win. I want a merciless beating where the whiners second string comes in because they are too far behind to comeback. "A must win" as if the Rams now all of a sudden were just an over hyped team with no real talent. Holt, Jackson, Bulger, Bruce, that alone would make...

                                Lets get Real Whiners
                                by LaRamsFanLongTime
There was more then a couple in here hooting and hollering after you guys beat us. I heard that Gore was a better back then Jackson, you know the guy that leads the league in all purpose yards and has not fumbled all season.
I heard that the Rams were in the same situation as the whiners as far as rebuilding. Kind of funny when our offense remained pretty much in tact. How many pro bowlers are on that whiners offense by the way? I heard that because you all managed to beat us that we sucked, never mind the fact that during divisional rivalry games anything can happen.

Since that time I saw the Whiners get crushed by the Eagles the score does not indicate how bad that game was. I will give you The Eagles are a great team but to say your team is growing they need to at least put up a fight. Then came the ultimate low, not only did your whiners lose to an 0-2 team they got smoked. Trent Green was not even in the game. Cheifs are known for having a week defense yet your QB threw for under 100 yards? :notworking: The all mighty gore had 79 total yards from scrimage. I beleive Jackson vs the Lions had 146 yards total offense not bad huh?

Now to the point, I see you getting pissed Scrapie because we are talking crap after all you guys beat us. The bottom Line is we won 2 games since our loss to you and you guys have won 0. I do not feel we played stellar teams but one of those teams beat you guys and the other has one heck of an offense. Now you still want to hoot and holler and think we have no room to talk then go ahead. Just remeber every point that has been made so far by the whiner fans (Brain Daddy excluded he is reasonable) has been disproven. Your team is no where near where the Rams are as far as rebuilding. Gore is not better then Jackson he cannot even hold onto the ball. The Rams have more talent on offense and defense. The only thing that rings true is the Whiners beat the Rams at their home opener woohoo.

The Rams are adapting to the new offense now and it is running like a machine. Bulger has no picks and Jackson has no fumbles. We have won the turnover battle in every game, yes even in the loss vs you guys. They are picking up steam and feeling good again. The swagger is returning and this team will get better each week.

The whiners are young and down and have no Veterans to pick them back up. They should be able to beat the Raiders this weekend but if they dont I will be so bold as to say your whole season will be lost. THIS ALREADY??, IN WEEK 5??, A MUST WIN?!?!?!?! Pretty emberassing if you ask me. Good luck!:sfosux:
