I didn't get to see ANY of the preseason games this year (first time EVER) due to the move to LA. All I have to go on is what I have read, and I honestly thought Wolford was supposedly doing pretty good.

Guess he's either practice squad, or I need to find another source for information besides "sports analysts" from LA.

Not sure that he was a surprise, he was always up against it.

You moved to Southern California or the state of the ‘aints?
“Oh, 100 percent,” Donald said. “I feel like the words, ‘Thank you,’ ain’t enough. You’ve got to show it... Instead of saying thank you — show it.”

No, my team moved to LA and now there's a media blackout for any NFL news that isn't Mahomes related. They don't understand that there's 31 other teams, and the majority of the people here aren't Chiefs fans, no matter how hard they push it on us.

Last season he didn't have to compete with Fox, Obo, Patrick, not to mention Matthews. I expect Snead and McVay hoped to get him to the practice squad. But the guy sacked Brady in the SB. So, not really a secret.

Really is surprising. He had a decent rookie season. Wasn't going to be a starter, but figured to be a solid rotational player. I just hope this is a sign of how good the other LBers are, rather than some regression from JFM.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I really dont think it was a gamble. I think they knew with 100% certainty they were going to lose him.

I agree with that assessment. I really think they were glad to have him as a rotational DE while Morgan Fox was IR last season, but with Fox returning they evaluated each player's talent and likely felt Fox was the better option over the long-term.
