  • Week 3 Predictions Rams V Browns

The 2-0 Rams travel to Cleveland to play the 1-1 Browns on Football Sunday night. This is the first of what appears to be 5 National showings for our Rams. These teams have met sparingly over the course of their collective storied NFL existence. The Rams lead the series 12-11 but this is only the fifth time they will have met this century. I am looking for Beckham to be held under wraps by our secondary. Our road warriors will prevail ……..

      Depends....

are the Rams too confident? Do the Rams do as they should and give the Browns a brownie with the other Rams RB not named Gurley?

Assume the above isn’t and is the case:
      Rams 48
      Browns 10

It will be a bad interesting game if the Rams D cannot contain Brown WRs.

I trust McVay and team do not take any opponent lightly.
“Oh, 100 percent,” Donald said. “I feel like the words, ‘Thank you,’ ain’t enough. You’ve got to show it... Instead of saying thank you — show it.”

The set up for the game is pretty interesting. The Browns, who haven't done anything or had a winning season in forever, got a lot of media buzz in the offseason due to their immediate gains last season from their rebuilding efforts (expending stockpiled draft picks, signing high profile FAs such as OBJ) and the immediate positive impact of Mayfield. But Mayfield strikes many as cocky, before he's earned the right, their "dog pound" is obnoxious, and they're easy to hate. It's really their first big test this season, and it's a nationally televised night game. So, you never know whether a game will be interesting, but the set up is pretty intriguing.

I'm expecting the Rams to hit their stride on offense in Week 3 (conditioned on O line health and play). And I think our D is pretty good this season. I just think that having won our first 2, and getting the Saints' game out of the way with a decisive win, they'll come out loose, confident and annoyed by the Browns' pretensions. (Man, it's great to be a top team privileged to condescend in this manner.)

This game is likely to be close; the Rams are the only road favorite this Sunday.

These two NFL teams aren’t favored to win a single game during the 2017 season
                      by r8rh8rmike
These two NFL teams aren’t favored to win a single game during the 2017 season

After taking a look at the 2017 NFL schedule, the oddsmakers in Las Vegas have decided there’s two teams in the league that they really don’t like this year: the
Cleveland Browns and the Los Angeles Rams..

Things are so bad that neither team is favored to win a single game during the first 16 weeks of the upcoming NFL season (this is the opposite of the
New England Patriots, who are favored to win every game they play in 2017).

If you’re wondering how we already know the spreads for those games, it’s because Vegas sportsbook CG Technology released their weekly regular season lines on Tuesday, and for the second year in a row, it looks like betting against the Browns might be the fastest way to pad your bank account.

Overall, the Browns are an underdog of at least one touchdown in nine of their first 15 games. The biggest point spread the Browns will face this year is 9.5 points, which will happen a total of four times — at Baltimore, at Indianapolis, at Houston, vs. Green Bay.

The one upside for the Browns this year is that they’re not going to be an underdog in every game. Although they’re not favored to win in any of their games, they have been listed as a pick’em for their Week 5 game against the New York Jets..

The Browns haven’t been favored to win a game since the 2015 season. They were an underdog in all 16 games they played in 2016. As a matter of fact, betting against the Browns was an easy way to make money last season.

In 16 games, the Browns went an atrocious 3-12-1 against the spread last year, which means if you had bet $110 against them in every game they played last year, you would’ve ended the season with a nice profit of $870. According to FiveThirtyEight.com, the Browns’ 3-12-1 showing ATS was tied for the sixth-worst mark in NFL history.

As for the Rams, Vegas seems to think it could be a rough first season for new coach Sean McVay.

Not only are the Rams an underdog in every game, but they’ll even top the Browns in one category: largest spread.

The biggest spread either team will face in 2017 comes in Week 15, when the Rams are 13.5-point underdogs for a game in Seattle.

The closest the Rams come to being favored happens in Week 3, when they’re only a 1.5-point underdog for a game in San Francisco.

The point spreads for Week 17 haven’t been released yet, which could end up being the week where the Rams are favored. During the final week of the season. L.A. will be hosting the 49ers. On the other hand, don’t look for the Browns to be favored in Week 17 because they’ll be playing at Pittsburgh.

2016 schedule with point spreads (Browns, Rams)

                      Week 1:
                      Pittsburgh Steelers
                      at Browns (+9),
                      Indianapolis Colts
                      at Rams (+3)

                      Hood to Browns
                      by peramoure
Free agent CB Rod Hood agrees to deal with Browns - ESPN

He signed a one year deal. Do you think he did this because there was no interest or because he's holding out for big money in 2010? Kind of irritating we couldn't pay him more than the one year deal the Browns offered.

                      Bentley: Browns, to the Rams?
                      by Rambos
LeCharles Bentley walked away from his lifelong dream of playing for the Browns on Wednesday because it just didn't feel like a dream anymore.

Bentley, who would have competed at both center and guard, said he thought he could have won a starting job if given the chance.

Bentley, who passed his Browns physical on Monday night, made his decision after participating in minicamp on a limited basis Tuesday morning and attending team meetings.

"The feeling just wasn't the same as when I first signed with the Browns," he said. "I thought it over through the course of the day, spoke with my mom, weighed my options and then got a good night's sleep. When I woke up, I knew what I had to."

Bentley, a two-time Pro Bowl center with New Orleans, signed a six-year, $36 million free-agent contract in March 2006 with the Browns.

                      Height: 6-2
                      Weight: 309
                      College: Ohio State
                      Experience: 6

Should the Rams take a long look?
