  • 2019 Game 13 Seahags @ Rams Predictions

This week the Rams host the Seahags in a key divisional match-up. The Rams are coming off a dominant victory against the Cardinals and as you know, it was a great response to the utter breakdown and dominance against the Ravens. So, which team will show up? The Seahags lead this series 24-19 and took the earlier game 30-29 when GZ missed a game winning FG as time ran out. This game will be a real test for the Rams. Goff will get pressure. Wilson truly has the potential to be a headache for Rams d. For Rams to win, it will comedown to play calling, Goff not getting happy feet and execution by our d The o line is always an unknown.
I am hopeful it is a competitive game. I am hopeful we can pull it out. I am hopeful McVay and co. have them ready.....

    Rams 27
    Hags 21

    What say you?

Continues? Didn't you say the same prior to the Cards game?

Anyway, must win game and I think the Rams play lights out!

I did. I also stated it’s why I do not gamble. I hope they prove me wrong the rest of the way.

The Rams SHOULD have won in Seattle ....... I think they win this week IF they keep their head screwed on.

Third game in a row against a mobile QB, I would think Wade can figure out how to minimize the threat.

I think we can win, but I will be in knots the whole game. If the offense can execute and keep the hags offense off the field, we will win.

              Go Rams!

I think the Rams found they have a high-octane offense when they put their minds to it. Despite AZ having a weaker defense than Seattle, the Rams will look to establish a sound running game that it keys off to pass the ball downfield. Protecting Goff v Clowny & Jarran Reed will be a good test. Our defense has found it can pressure Russell Wilson consistently with AD hopefully giving him nightmares. I see this becoming a shootout as the Rams know they must essentially run the table to gain a playoff spot.

I'm glad it's the Seahawks at the Coliseum this week. This is exactly who and where I want to see the Rams play at this critical point. The way the Rams play the game and the result will answer big questions about this 2019 team. If we win, we're officially making a playoff run. If we lose, we're merely "not mathematically eliminated" and wishing for miracles. I can't make an intellectually honest prediction of a Rams' win. So, I'll just hope for it. Go Rams!

This game opened with Seattle as a 2.5 point favorite, and is now a pick-um, meaning the money is favoring the Rams.

                          From a Seattle perspective.

                          =====================

Rams TE Gerald Everett ruled out against the Seahawks

By Tyler Alsin / SB Nation Seattle
                          Dec. 7, 2019, 9:32 am PST

Los Angeles Rams tight end Gerald Everett will not suit up on Sunday against the Seattle Seachicks. It’s a significant development in that Everett was the most effective weapon against the Seahawks last time around. Sure, Todd Gurley may have scored two touchdowns, but he gained a total 57 yards and was very unthreatening. Cooper Kupp did some cool things, too, except 9-17 is not a good reception to target ratio for an NFL slot guy.

Everett gained 136 yards on seven receptions and was very frustrating in the middle of the field back in October. It was especially demoralizing to watch him go big on two of the final seven plays as Los Angeles set up their ill-fated field goal for the win that never was. Everett gained 28 yards on one play, and the final nine yards on third down to set up Greg Zuerlein's 44 yard attempt.

In fact, Everett’s most effective game by far this season came against the Seahawks. His 136 yards is double his next best game in 2019, and he’s only received double digit targets two other times.

L.A. will have to gameplan something else, as Everett has already been ruled out and the Rams will be back to Tyler Higbee at tight end.

Seattle is currently not great at defending tight ends. Let’s just call it what it is...they’re pretty bad. The Seahawks currently give up the third most yards, and fourth most touchdowns to tight ends.

The Rams other option at TE is Tyler Higbee, who’s been relatively quiet in his early career. He did get to take part in that offensive explosion against the Arizona Cardinals last week, going over 100 yards and a TD for the first time all season.

Los Angeles has weapons aplenty on offense, especially if coach Sean McVay continues to increase Todd Gurley's usage.

Seattle will then still have to deal with the likes of Brandin Cooks, Cooper Kupp, and Robert Woods. But seeing as Jared Goff currently likes to throw the ball not very far, the absence of a potentially explosive tight end in the middle of the field is at least a little comforting.

This week the 6-5 Rams head to Arizona to battle the 3-7-1 Az Cards. Kyle Murray is having a good rookie year and could present problems for the Rams ala Wilson, Jackson etc. This is a game the Rams should win on paper. Being a divisional game though, we know anything can happen. Havenstein should be back but having said that, I am not sure which Ram team will show up. Interesting to see how they rebound from the utter embarrassment from Monday. It is my fervent hope the Rams can indeed pull themselves together for rest of this season starting with this game.

So, here we are. Short turnaround to see if the team has gut checked themselves and pulled heads out of orifices..... The game is in fan friendly Seattle. Always a joy to watch a game there.
The effervescent Pete Carroll led Seahawk's lead series 23-19. Under McVay, Rams are 3-1

I am sorry to say to you that I am not feeling it this week.. Some of you have mentioned the TB game was a "trap" game. I hope so. But with the problems I saw Sunday, I am officially concerned.

Our somewhat beleaguered 11-3 Rams take on the last place Arizona Cardinals this week. The Rams lead this series 40-38-2 including a 34-0 whitewashing way back in September. This will be a tough game IMO whereby the Cardinals will surely attempt bring it to our Rams. I looked at this game as a clear win in the weeks up to this match-up My confidence has been shaken a bit but the Rams are the better team and I expect the outcome to be in our favor......

                                Second half predictions ...

Call me crazy, but after studying it for awhile, here's how I see it ...

Nov. 14 @ S.F. - Coming off the bye week, you know the Rams will be well prepared and well rested, and somewhat healed. The is a huge game for the young Rams who must overcome the road obstacle. Gore has never had huge games against the Rams, although he seems to always have one huge play per game. I don't see Troy Smith being able to handle the pressure, and I don't see Gore getting the play. I expect the Rams to take their first road win here.
                                WIN 19-13 to go 5-4

Nov. 21 vs. Atl - This is seemingly a tough game, but Atlanta has not been overly dominant this season. Their offense isn't as explosive as San Diego, and they defense is very susceptible to the short passing game. The Rams find a way to take Michael Turner out of this game, and they find themselves in the first shootout they've had this season. A big defensive stop late in the game puts the ball in Bradford's hands. The rook gets his first comeback win of the season on a late touchdown pass to the ever-clutch Daniel Fells.
                                WIN 31-27 to go 6-4

Nov. 28 @ Den - This is a terrible matchup for Denver. They cannot run the ball and the Rams will capatilize on this by pressuring Orton with their most intense pressure packages to date. The Rams force several turnovers and handle this game in a similar manner to the Panthers game.
                                WIN 20-10 to go 7-4

Dec. 5 @ Ari - Oh, how things have changed some the first game of the season. Who will the QB for Arizona be? It doesn't matter at this point, as the Rams will be playing at their highest level of the season, while Arizona is looking forward to the offseason. Rams win this one easily for their third straight road win.
                                WIN 23-6 to go 8-4

Dec. 12 @ NO - Riding high, the Rams come into New Orleans but are unable to get much going in this hostile environment. New Orleans is fighting to keep their heads above water, and Brees stays focused and controlled and methodically picks the Rams apart. Bradford tries to keep the Rams close in the 2nd half, but ultimately threws a bad interception, and New Orleans takes this one by two touchdowns.
                                LOSS 27-13 to go 8-5

Dec. 19 vs. KC - Tough matchup here. Kansas City comes into this one with a simple plan. Run, run, run, and run more. They gash the Rams for big yards early, before we adjust to take control and the momentum away. The Rams pull even late, but K.C. gets a big play action pass downfield late and wins by a FG.
                                Loss 19-17 to go 8-6

Dec. 26 vs. SF - Rams are looking to clinch the division here in front of the first true sellout crowd of the year. S.F. is in total disarray and has little hope in this matchup. Rams make a statement to the rest of the league.
                                Win 35-7 to go 9-6

Jan. 2 @ Sea. - Rams have clinched the division, cannot improve their playoff status and have nothing to play...

Wow...already week 10! Our 8-1 Rams coming off their first loss of the season, come home to play the only team in the NFC Division that is alive in the playoff hunt. The Hags lead the series 23-18. The Rams in week 5 held on to eek out victory in Seattle 33-31. I watched a replay of that game last night. Stopping the run up the middle will be a great thing to see the Rams adjust to Seattle had 190 rushing yards last game.....

We have the Leg, Cooper and Cooks back. Let's put these guy's out of their remote playoff hopes misery!
