  • Warner Hurt?

    Can anyone answer this question?
Why the heck did Mike Martz leave Warner & Faulk in the game when they knew it was a blow-out?
Now I hear Warner is hurt.
    Doesn't make sense to me?

    Warner hurt

W also couldn't understand why the idiot left Warner and Faulks in the game. Is the rib injury enough to bother him next week?
I hope not. Even if the defense rises again to the occasion, we
    need Kurt.

It is human to err... But is it really?

According to Coach Martz (Monday 01/21/02 press meeting):

[Quoted from official Website] ON MARSHALL FAULK BEING LEFT IN THE GAME:
"Marshall should not have been in there, that was a bone-head mistake on my part. My whole concept in that fourth quarter was just trying to keep the defense off of the field. That was everything I was thinking about, it was not to try and score points. That is a different train of thought for me and just trying to get the first down in little pieces and trying to run the clock down and I got so wrapped up in that, then I realize he was still out there. There was no reason for that." [end quote]

        :helmet:

Now, it is certainly no consolation to know that "to err is human..." but at least our Head Coach admits it. What is puzzling is that with all the other coaches, assistants, trainers, players, stadium fans -- that somehow, someone would realize it was time to pull Faulk and Warner (at least these two) ...OUT!

Human error. It causes planes to crash, space missions to fail, and MVP's placed at unnecessary risk before millions of viewers.
Mike Martz is no idiot however. Let's get on with it!

        GO RAMS!!! :ram:

I don't know if he learned his lesson or not. Lest we forget it was only a couple of weeks ago that Kurt Warner was the lead blocker on an end around in the forth quarter with the Rams well ahead of Atlanta. And he has done it in the past. The lesson should have been learned long ago. I find great difficulty in believing that NO ONE realized that these to stars were still in the game with the Rams up 35 points. Jamie Martin and Trung Candidate could have accomplished the same thing as Kurt and Marshall. Martz is no idiot, I agree, but when he does things like that he is certainly a bone head. I was screaming at him so loudly he probably could have heard me. And I'm in Virginia.

Eagle Defensive Game plan is to blitz the hell out of Warner and hit him hard, right from the get go.

Eagles, high-speed, blitzing, hard-hitting, concussion giving Defense is ready to bring the pain.

King Kong,That has been every teams plan from week one.We are used to hearing that week in and week out.Its sad when a defense thinks their only chance to win is to hurt the QB.I know Warner will survive Philly's onslaught. Not only will he survive,he will thrive against the blitz.(that wasnt intended as smack by the way.)

Martz - just like Forest Gump

Maybe fans in the dome should take matters in to their own hands.

In the movie "Forest Gump", when the hero keeps running after the play is done, the crowd stands up and yells STOP.

Well, I guess the fans in the dome could stand up and yell "TAKE WARNER OUT"

                          Good one!...

                          Ha-ha-ha-ha! LOL! Excellent idea:

That would be a thriller; afterwards pour on the Gatorade on Coach Martz for doing so (in addition to winning the game).

                          Good one Bud!

My response to King Kong is simply this: If the only way the
Eagles defence think they can win the game on Sunday is by hurting Kurt Warner, they must be scared and not have any confidence in their offense. I think it's pretty sorry when, instead
of playing a good game, all they think of is injuring someone.
